I can't wait for Denshattack to come out because I'm so happy with the creative freedom they've given me to design the game's entire narrative. They've gone for even the craziest ideas. There's no limit to what this team can do. Also, I consider this officially the first-ever Shonen I write, haha.

When I watch a gameplay of someone completely flattening the town in Virtue and a Sledgehammer, walking through a sea of debris, no stone unturned (or smashed), it makes me want to hug them. Like... are you ok? 🥲 I'm enjoying a lot seeing how differently people behave when put in this context.

I'm curious what you think about dying in unpopular hills game design-wise. With the release of the Virtue and a Sledgehammer DEMO, we keep getting players asking for RUNNING and even JUMPING, which I feel would ruin the vibe of the game. Am I being unreasonable for sticking to my guns here?

A Steam forum post saying: "Where is RUNNING button?"

developer response:

"There are no plans to add running to the game. It may be a bold choice but that's the kind of vibe we want to bring to what the main character's going through.

Running may feel too adventurish for the heavy burden of mowing through so many complicated memories!"

Jajaja hasta hace nada te habría dicho que sí! Pero este año he estrenado standing desk con cinta de andar y está siendo todo un viaje. Al final del día no acabo hecho un trapo por las horas de silla y... ESTOY CURRANDO MÁS Y MÁS RÁPIDO. Es increíble.

I'm 8 hours into Cairn and it's already one of the most memorable experiences I ever had in my life playing a videogame. I love the gameplay, the art, the music, the mood, the narrative. Just existing in this mountain is exhilarating. So much pain and joy. Thank you for this beautiful game.

I often use Tarot as a way to unlock writing. Sometimes you're faced with truly haunting readings. I was writing the game over scenes for Virtue and a Sledgehammer, they increase in intensity as you're defeated again and again. And it's like the Tarot was aware of that...

I had one of the most magical mornings playing R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 while reading Andy's fanzine. I'd recommend it to anyone. It is so good I ended up in tears while crossing the finish line on that New Year's Eve race, and the final laps flashed "2000" and "Happy New Year" and then FIREWORKS.

We got to see the legendary brazier that held the olympic flame in 1992, and later inspired Many Nights a Whisper. It felt quite magical... And also the shot looks way harder than in the game! cc @marineteta.bsky.social
