I'm fascinated (and worried) by AI's effect on jobs. Halfway through 2026 and US tech layoffs have matched all of last year. Tech is close to a third of all US layoffs, all while AI spending keeps going up. For good or bad, this is moving in months, not years. www.ft.com/content/96a33881-2...

FT chart of announced US tech layoffs, 2008–2026 (Challenger data, 2026 through July 13). Left: annual totals, peaking near 198,000 in 2023, with 2026 already at 139,000 versus 155,000 for all of 2025. Right: tech's share of all US layoffs, about 31% in 2026, a series high.

Working on some UI enhancements to Limelight inspired by Liquid Glass. I use Flutterflow to build this app. A little more tweaking to do, but this is as close as I can get to Liquid Glass, notably the search bar at the bottom of the page. #BuildInPublic

Spent the last two weeks getting away from the day-to-day work life. But, I'm back, and ready to hit the ground running. Some epic shots from the vacation.

A bit of design inspiration from Teenage Engineering. Hard to believe these are actual products you can buy. Incredible.

📱 Weekly App Spotlight: Overcast Overcast is my go-to podcast player that I’ve been using for ten years. One of my favorite features is Smart Speed, which intelligently shortens silences between words without distorting the audio. I've saved 240 hours of listening time thanks to this feature alone.

Fellow UX designers, how can I improve this design? Main goals are searching for movies or TV shows, view ratings, and where to stream. #uxdesign #ux #buildinpublic #indiehackers #ui
