Incredibly ugly & unhelpful bit of typesetting/design in this feature ifrom this month's Vogue.

A piece with the first letter 'E' in a large, bold font which is different to the font in the actual piece placed in the middle of the page. The first word is Emily, but it took me three goes to work out where the first letter was. Horrid.

I have been skimming/reading Simon Hart’s Ungovernable. It’s a proper curate’s egg, but there are flashes of really genuine insight. I was struck by this during a discussion of a Senedd in election (while Boris was still PM). I

The trouble with our Party's approach to elections is that we are always refining the last campaign we fought rather than projecting forwards. Nobody reads manifestos, let alone alters their vote because of them, so we might as well try a totally different approach in terms of both content and comms.
