A LOT of conservative media is essentially a call-and-response trope composed of two parts: 1. “Don’t you hate <X>” 2. “Yes, <X> is bad!” That's literally it. It's intended to facilitate what Tosi & Warmke (2016) call "moral grandstanding" and once you get it, you see it everywhere

TL;DR, turnout is a necessary but not sufficient counter-strategy against expected election interference by an adversarial executive branch assumed to be hostile to the conduct of free & fair elections. 'Too big to rig' is still a good idea. That is a valid phrase. 1/2
