As he's a maleficent authoritarian and malignantly narcissistic psychopath, he dissociates himself from his own crimes, by blaming others for them.

Well, the Sunday Times was 'economical with the truth' at the very least.

Verifiable data doesn't sell papers, or manipulate people's opinions about political parties to the liking of newspaper media moguls.

The contrary aspect of that policy is that capitalism is built on expanding markets to increase profits, which requires an expanding domestic population (unless your business is built on exporting goods or services).

All of that impressed Trump though.

What's even worse is that Kegsbreath seemingly got the job because Trump thought he looked good on TV.

I have a gut feeling that if Kegsbreath had been in action in Vietnam, his own men would have 'fragged' him.

At the moment, but give it time, but that's not something white Europeans have asked for. At least we're nice to any Americans who want to come here to the UK.

We did the same with our 13 1/2 year old Boxer boy, Buster. He had dementia but we made sure he was enjoying some of his favourite snacks as he went to sleep forever.

They shouldn't be maleficent, malignantly narcissistic psychopaths either.

Absolutely right! The far right in the UK is no different: narcissistic psychopaths.

Exactly; that would be the lure for both parties, but I wouldn't discount Farridge wanting to be PM, as like the other PM who wasn't really interested, apart from the title, he is a malignantly narcissistic psychopath.

No. It indicates that the US department of war has realised that those assets are not making any difference to the war that isn't a war, and potentially that the weapons stocks they use have been debilitated to bare minimum.

It's not certain that the Tories would form a coalition, but being out of power for a few years, might change their minds and the desire to remain relevant. You'd be wanting to have a bowl of popcorn and a beer to hand to see who'd be PM though, out of the two narcissist leaders.

The Nazis got into government thanks to a lot of media help, and with the SA at the polling stations. Watch out during the mid-terms

We Europeans aren't 'getting a pass'. We've got our own problems with far right populist parties using economic and climate migrants as a weapon to usurp our centrist societies. In the UK we are cursed with 3 billionaire funded fascist parties, along with 'activist' groups . No guns though

What's the ratio of 'more good stuff than bad stuff'? 99/1, 75/25? No regulations or deregulation invariably results in corner cutting to get products to market (which never happens 😂) or just plain malfeasance to gain profit.

Or, the USA is winding back on its attacks on Iran because: either they're not winning, they're running out of armaments, or there's a peace deal being made (very unlikely), or they need them for somewhere else.

When the Tories (someone must love 'em..maybe their mothers?) needed a lot of money after their return in 2010, they instituted a financial transaction tax, which worked very well. Just saying...

2/2 The agreement wasn't universally popular with all sides, Zionist or Nazi. The Zionist federation wanted to get Jews out of Germany, but attract them to Palestine. The Nazis wanted to use the Jewish people they didn't want in Germany as a whitewash for their anti-Semitism.

The 1933 Haavara Agreement was the only formal contract between Nazi Germany; the Reich Ministry of Economics, the Zionistische Vereinigung für Deutschland (Zionist Federation of Germany) and the Anglo-Palestine Bank (then under the direction of the Jewish Agency for Palestine). 1/2

All the Trump 💩show could have been avoided if people had recognised what he was, and what he was going to do, in 2024, and turned out to vote, even if were for the 'least worst' option.

Individual shareholders own small numbers of shares, but have very little influence. Hedge and pension funds have large numbers of shares, have a much larger influence, but will rarely interrupt the decisions of CEOs unless they are losing the profits the funds require.

If this isn't a sign that the wheels have truly come off the Trump trolley, I don't know what is. I'm surprised Xi didn't say "Great! I'll have one of everything" (and reverse engineer it all).

2/2 That wasn't what Thatcherism was about, it was about channeling money into the City, and filling the pockets of the investors, after having thrown some crumbs to the hoi polloi, via the state owned sell-offs. Ensuring that the hou-polloi and the nation to benefit, wasn't the plan.

A sovereign wealth fund would have been the ideal vehicle, as would not flogging off the state owned oil company to retain some of the profits from our oil. 1/2

2/2 The wealth gap, prior to 1979, was 75/25, vastly different today. If people had an income that meant they had excess, amongst other things like affording save to buy a home, they could also invest from early in their working life in a pension.
000
jonsmith841.bsky.social @jonsmith841.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I didn't actually say anything about pensions being supported by taxation of the 0.1%. What I alluded to was that they will have to forgo the massive wealth extraction that they have currently enjoyed since Thatcherism really took effect. 1/2
000
jonsmith841.bsky.social @jonsmith841.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
So many answers based on how the economy is operated. To pay pensions with a shrinking population and would require the wealth extraction by the 0.1% would have to be greatly reduced to fund the pensions by taxation.

Yet they have to ride the storm of being an unwanted government by the right wing and the bulk of the media and who can only please some of the people, some of the time. Personally, I think they need to tell the xenophobes and press to take a hike.
