Short and sweet review of the @repebble.com Index 01. Another fun (and useful!) gadget from Pebble!

Pebble Index 01 review
My review of the Index 01 after a month of usage: does what it says on the tin and more, and surprisingly smooth for a first gen product.

It's been a really fun few days taking photos with the DITHRPIX app I made for the @pimoroni.com Badger! Just released the first updates github.com/jonothanhunt... including better sleep management, tutorial on boot and some other speed and usability improvements!

And most importantly the dithered photos have so much character and using the thing (cycling dither algorithms etc.) is great fun!

Attempt one of a case is printing and we have a UI! A cycles exposure windows, B captures, C cycles dither algorithms, up/down move between photos taken and back to camera. I want exported photos to look as on the e-ink, bonus is safely fitting 60 photos in the 1MB apps can use, aiming for more!
Laptop open with Blender 3D software open with case design' background of shot is 3D printer printing the case in white translucent fillamentBadgeware badge with e ink screen showing camera UI as described and on the left the dithered grayscale photo of Gromit from Wallace and Gromit. Attached via some wires is the camera module.

Testing a little camera module connected to my @pimoroni.com Badger 2350, and it works! Once soldered, UI and gallery + case designed and printed, I’ll have myself a cute lo-fi dither cam! Will follow up with a blog on parts and process!

@ericmigi.com what's the best way to do auth to 3rd parties directly from the clay config? Any chance of expanding on the Health integration? When I'm up to speed + received my index, hope to contribute to UX/UI around the app 😃

Absolutely love this watch to bits, so much personality and flexibility! After an Apple watch and Pixel watch, somehow even more useful. Notifications, timeline and everything else are just so thoughtfully built and quick too. So good to be excited by a proper gadget!

Created my first ever Pebble watch face today! Ties into my preferred fitness stats via a manual Google Health API integration.
Pebble watch face I made featuring a weather icon, time in rounded font, date in a pill shape and arcs showing fitness infoConfiguration page in the Pebble app for adjusting colours and time format of the watch face.
