Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 13/05/2025Haha I feel that. Every mainstream interview I do seems to start with "so how do you make beer"? 010
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 13/05/2025Related - when my agent pitched The Meaning of Beer out he got several responses like "we love the pitch but beer books don't sell". There's a lot at play but that just isn't true. I think what they mean is "we can't see it hitting the bestseller list/website most read, so we won't take a punt" 020
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 13/05/2025What's extra odd is I have been the topic of THREE features in national papers, about my youtube channel or the recent campaign... but never been commissioned by them myself. So they see the public interest, but will only cater to it in a "hey isn't it weird that people love beer?" way. 210
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 09/05/2025I'd recommend The Pembury Tavern, the Sutton Arms, the Southampton Arms, the Wenlock, the Old Fountain, the Hope (Carshalton) and The Harp for great traditional cask ale 111
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 03/05/2025Thanks Roger! There was some decent beer available on the night, and they stock both my latest books so they are taking a real interest at least! 020
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 09/04/2025Absolutely thrilled to say that The Meaning of Beer has been nominated for a Fortnum & Mason Award! The paperback is out on 1st of May, the same day as the awards ceremony, so that's gonna be one hell of a day.... www.fortnumandmason.com/food-and-dri... 261
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 03/04/2025So what does one do with your day when you don't have a seven-part documentary to edit? 120
Jonny Garrett @jonnygarrett.bsky.social · 01/04/2025If you wanna pretend to be cooler, but still listen to Michael McDonald, his collab with Jacob Collier/Lawrence is the mother of all earworms. 120
