I'm late but I did the #my9games thing Not top 9 anything (favourites, playtime, etc), just nine without which I'd be a very different person today, for better or for worse. Roughly in chronological order. Reasoning in ALT text.

1. Lion King (Mega Drive)
The first game I owned (or that my sibling/whole family owned I suppose). Basically where it all went wrong.
2. Smash Bros. Melee
The first Nintendo game I owned. I had played some at friends/cousins but this was the first I had at home. Also led me to Smashboards, from where I later on found online friendships that lasted ~15 years (those started during Brawl days though)
3. Runescape
My MMO gateway-drug through which I got into WoW, which I spent my middle-school years on, ending up graduating thoroughly marginalised with all my social life being online and in a foreign language (English), and going into high school not knowing how to fix that anymore. (Should I have put WoW itself here? Yeah maybe but I can't be bothered editing the image anymore)
4. Touhou EOSD
One day in 2007 I came across this one little video called "RONALD MCDONALD INSANITY", and from then Touhou was a big part of my tastes up until like 2025. (But only the pre-2010 Touhou games)
5. Bunny Must Die
Kind of my first metroidvania, and introduction to Japanese doujin games (besides Touhou at around the same time). Used to replay this annually.
6. Team Fortress 2
I made my Steam account for the Orange Box in early 2009. Not much else needs to be said.
7. Swapdoodle
Sending random doodles to a friend was where some of my current OCs originated from
8. Guilty Gear Xrd
Taught me that I don't actually care about any form of PvP in video games. To this day, sorting my Steam library by most recently played, I have held to that. Excluding mahjong, Guilty Gear in 2018 was the last game I played against other players.
9. VRChat
Drawing for people I met through VRChat in 2018 was a big part of what really got me into the mindset that I should try to consciously improve with each drawing. Otherwise, a massive waste of vast amounts of money and thousands of hours over two years, and all I got out of it was a redoubled contempt for strangers and long-term burnout on my social battery

It's beginning to dawn on me how abusable the pre-battle prep screen really is for RNG manipulation. Seeing differences of hundreds of damage just by shuffling equipment around

Jonkku | Commissions open @jonkku.art · 01/08/2026

Using this as my thread for the occasional screenshot now that I'm playing the full game The RNG is funny sometimes. Engaging the assist attacks can make you deal less and take more damage. I wish there was a way to see both outcomes play out in full to really tell what's going on that causes it

Unicorn Overlord screenshot, entering a battle, which shows that it will do enough damage to kill the enemy, with Ranged assist disabled

After turning ranged assist on, the forecast now shows as doing only a sliver of the enemy's remaining health

Alright done with Palworld for now Was fun, got like 120 hours out of it (according to Steam, so including some AFK time) Here's my end stats, main base, and the team I finished with I'm casual enough about monster collecting and team minmaxing that I'm passing on the hard mode stuff and boss raids

The Panthalus I added to the base at the end pretty much just for this screenshot. I turned raids off at some point, so it wouldn't have had anything to defend me from anyway

The last ~20 hours were spent breeding good skills and condensing a full team of 4 stars.
Also behind the menu you can see the real star of the team: the legendary tier Terraprisma I got by sheer luck from a chest in the Terraria dungeon, without having to grind for it the hard way.
