Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yeah, I love it, too... Great song, great band, arrangement, and all of that still stands. BUT, just as it was back 50 or so years ago, in my humble opinion, there is ZERO energy from JB. It's one of my all-time favorites, but, jeez... Have some energy! For an A/B, look at a recent Rush show! 010
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 25/09/2026My usual time for the inaugural first chili batch of the year generally coincides with the start of football season. Not this year — it's been at 100°F EVERY FREAKING DAY since June down here in Texas. By the way things are going, I'm not making chili until Thanksgiving time. 😔 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I think dialects are fascinating. Thanks for this! Born in WV (had a mamaw, AND a papaw), spent most of my school years — and growing up — in upstate NY, and have lived in TX now for almost 30 years. I refuse to say "y'all", I call it a "bag" (NOT a "sack") — so that probably skewed my results. 100
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Videos are GREAT! Thanks for that... And, extra thanks for shooting them vertically. Nice job! 010
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Yep... Did the same thing (for myself) for the Fort Worth "residency". Based on the LA shows, but, all live versions, from different periods. Those shows got "rearranged" for many reasons we all should know... Night 2 became Night 1, and so on... Still, it's a very cool thing. 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 10/08/2026We were a three-piece, too... And, the drummer was the lyricist. Myself and the guitar player, both best friends since the fifth grade (and, still make music together). We also lived and rehearsed in a place called Fisherville (NOT Ged and Alex's junior high, by the way) 😁 000
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Yep. That's how it worked for my bands, too... I walked into rehearsal one day, the guitarist had a lick, the drummer started grooving... I come in, and 30 minutes later, boom... A great song (to us, anyway) was born. Ended up clocking in at 8:30... Not radio-friendly, but still epic in our eyes. 320
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Maybe. Something to think about, though: Impromptu jamming during sound check generates ideas (I'm sure they record EVERYTHING). Anika literally has her hands full, learning the back catalog, but, maybe... Just maybe... She lays down a groove that's so infectious, it's undeniably a bed for something 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Great videos, man... I've been enjoying the hell out of them. Extra thanks for NOT shooting them vertically!!! 120
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Thanks for mentioning Loren, too... Seriously... His patches all sound spot on, as well as the added backing vox, makes them all sound fuller than ever. He was a great add, in my opinion. 000
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/08/2026It's a fucking great show... Hope you all blow the roof off the place! Can't wait for the movie!!! 100
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I bet! They sound freaking great, but honestly, my show was a little loosey-goosey from time to time. I guarantee they'll tighten the screws before heading home... You're going to an awesome show(s)!!! 031
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 18/07/2026The crowds went nuts at my show in Fort Worth, and all the other places I've seen video of as well... My guess is — in Toronto — you all are going to go APESHIT!!! 😁 130
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 01/07/2026By the way, there's a pretty nifty group chat set up... bsky.app/chat/MIM1yHnbsky.appFiftysomethings10/50 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 01/07/2026I decided to see another show, Thursday night... Maybe I'll pick one of those up, too... They are, pretty freaking sweet. 100
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 30/06/2026That's a cool $500 USD for those items right there. In Texas (if I recall): Jersey was $250 T-shirt =$55 Tour Book=$50 Hoodie... Don't recall, but figure $150 Oh... And in Texas, they also asked for a tip. I opted for 20%. It was HOT, and the vendors were busting their asses 😁 So, with tip, 600 120
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Yep. A/C is mandatory down here. Judging by the video clip you posted, you managed to score some pretty good seats... I was in the nosebleeds, but still... Nice venue, great sound, awesome light show... All-around excellent show. Glad you enjoyed it! I sure did. 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Hope you got to enjoy the show!!! I thought it was quite excellent. Still, I feel awful about you having to go through a bunch of shite to see it! Also, hope you got to enjoy Texas and Tennessee... Although, it's pretty freaking hot around here. 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 25/06/2026That SUCKS!!! I'll be there tomorrow night, too... Sec 212 Row 7. I hope the show makes up for your change in plans... I feel awful you had to go through all of this! 020
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 24/06/2026That... Was fucking AWESOME!!! Not only did she NAIL the vocals, I dug how she keyed in on the bass line... She even had era-correct Geddy hair, too! The kids, are most definitely, going to be alright. This old man is in tears right now 😭 120
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I see them Friday night!!! Can't wait... It's going to be awesome! 010
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Yeah, it's true here in North Texas, and yeah, it sucks. I like the Rush quote, though. 000
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Yep... Just watched this the other day. I freaking love those guys. 000
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 12/06/2026LOVE they're playing By-Tor!!! Saw that was an encore, and can't wait to see this! Two more weeks!!! 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 09/06/2026Welcome back!!! Good Afternoon, Viv!!! Sure missed you... Hope all is well! ❤️ 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Thanks... It's quite odd. I submitted some feedback as well. 030
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 21/05/2026I'm flying next week. For the first time ever, I chose 1st Class. You goddamn well better believe I check my bag, even though it's "carry-on-size" Yeah, in seat 1A it's "free". I know full well the stress induced — by everyone on a flight — about people having to fuck around with the overheads. 010
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/01/2026Prolific em-dash user here. On a Windows PC, hold "ALT" then type 0151 on the number pad (not the number row). Works on any app — even Notepad. My work-issued laptop doesn't have a number pad — it slows me down. Type 2014, select it, then select "ALT" and "X" and, voila — a splendid em-dash. 110
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/12/2025HYF tour was the second show I saw. The GUP tour was the first (amazing, as they all were) ... I saved some of the red balloons that were dropped at the end of the show, too. I kept those on top of my bass rig, taped to a record store standee of the Power Windows LP, but alas, they're long gone 😭 031
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 02/11/2025Nice!!! I snagged tickets (in the rafters) for the Friday night show in Fort Worth. 040
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 10/10/2025Yeah, I'm still in "I'll see" mode, too. The same person who told me prices in Fort Worth said tix start at $106 in Chicago. So, yeah... We'll see how it shakes out. 020
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 10/10/2025Yep. Citi cards only now for US cardholders, Amex only for Canada is what I understand. I still assume it's open to all who registered for pre-sale on Monday 10/13 at noon. I've heard prices in Fort Worth (where I'm at) are $300 for the nose-bleeds. Hope I'll be lucky enough to snag at least one🤞 130
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 06/10/2025I kick myself sometimes for not seeing them every time they toured, especially for the CA tour with the string section. Thought R40 was my last chance (it was an amazing show, and my son's first ever concert) ... I am NOT missing this. See you in Fort Worth!!! 130
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 08/09/2025Back in the late '80s, I was working at RadioShack in Horseheads, NY. Likely jamming Presto. A guy comes in, and of course, had to ask his name and address. You know, RadioShack 🙄 Turns out it was Kim Mitchell. Cool guy, too. Back then, I had no idea who he was!!! Wish I had a redo on that one 😭 120
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 19/07/2025Oh... And more importantly, I doubled my current monthly sustaining membership to my local PBS and NPR stations, too, whilst telling CBS/Paramount to eff-off. 041
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 19/07/2025Same here. Didn't get a screenshot, but that was the jist of what I wrote, too... That, and the glitchy app basically sucked shit. 140
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 28/06/2025For the uninitiated, the drummer, Neil Peart, passed in 2020 from a form of brain cancer. The US Army did a fantastic tribute to him: youtu.be/aAPSK_cV5n0?... No flying Geddy, or 80s video treatment... Just a rearrangement of a truly beautiful piece of music, and a tribute to a great human being.youtu.beTime Stand StillYouTube video by The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" 142
Jon Jensen @jonjensen2112.bsky.social · 27/06/2025Awesome. Say what you will about the 80s video tech (a flying Geddy is always going to be cooler than anything), but, jeez... What a song! I'm sure I'm not alone, but that final verse, with nights getting colder and old friends getting older, just punches me right in the heart. Crying right now. 010
