Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Moment of Truth time. Let's see if I can still do any of this kind of stuff. Going to try a repaint on these two to see if they can look less toilike 120
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Got another round of laser scheduled for this week, oh joy. 120
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Very happy with that. It's only taken me about 20 years from start to finish. And the last four weeks were mostly by Touch. (Sound on) 130
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 28/05/2026Managed a little bit of painting today. My vision is still all over the place, so can't read or do close up work yet, but it was an achievement just to produce ANYTHING 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 22/05/2026The good news is that I can see there's a screen there. The big test will be when there's something in it! 140
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 08/05/2026Finally time to get off my backside and finish this helmet kit. I've only had it for over 15 years! (Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that an officially licenced replica has just been announced at 8 grand!!) 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Some of the nonsense I've built over the years, because - reasons.... 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 30/04/2026Just back from a short two day break - ironically more exhausted than when I went. But it's not a holiday if you don't take some toys along.... 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 22/04/2026Probably just me seeing patterns that aren'r there..... 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 20/04/2026"Marching into the detention centre is not what I had in mind!" Finally finished. This one exhausted me - especially working with dodgy peepers. 171
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Thank you.... Got to wait for results. Thankfully, in the end it was more 'Incredible Hulk' than 'Clockwork Orange' 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 08/04/2026Call me sentimental, but this whole sequence can almost reduce me to tears every time. Its a good one to show folk who say Shatner can't act too - the emotion here, despite the fact he's prbablyy just looking at an empty soundstage and a grip scratching his arse. And Oh and my God - the score! 110
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Getting silly now - this one's going to be BIG. There's always the temptation to say "I'll just add a bit more..." 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 31/03/2026I do like a bit of household object recycling to kitbash. I call it 'Wombling' 000
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 30/03/2026Sneak peek of the back of yesterday's part of the build. As usual for me, the paint will do all the heavy lifting. I also tried a rough layout, terrifyingly. This is going to be the biggest thing I've built yet... 000
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 29/03/20263D printing is cool and convenient, but there's something pleasingly tactile about old fashioned foamcore and glue gun.... 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 16/03/2026Obligatory... (Dropped at a completely inconvenient time though - it's beans on toast for a couple of weeks...) 030
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 13/03/2026If you see this, post a vampire that isnt Dracula. 110
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Hang 9n... thats The Doctor! Naughty World distributors....... 120
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 20/02/2026Been a hectic, stressful few weeks. Taking advantage of a temporary lull to make myself a little reward. So far, there have been 'No Complications' 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 16/02/2026Yes, it's a lot. But they don't hit until Xmas, so family present money will do a lot of the heavy lifting. But I just couldn't not! 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 06/02/2026If you see this, quote with a robot that isnt fro 'Star Wars' 'Star Trek' 'Doctor Who' or 'Transformers'. 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 13/01/2026Thats who 'Maskatron' was supposed to be. (If you squint) 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 13/01/2026Like all sets - the back is rubbish... But the front isn't too bad. It's been a nice change to get my hands dirty with 'traditional' building again 141
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 09/01/2026What war your #childhoodcinema The Crescent, Pontefract 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 08/01/2026After a long break, and a massive dose of ennui, gotten back on with this. (Still just showing the ugly backside - ill turn it around when it's done) 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 29/12/2025These new ones are on a par with the expensive imports, better in some respects as they stand up to a lot of handling.... not that im talking from experience, of course,,.. 110
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 28/12/2025Klingons are noth8ng if not contradictory, Whatever happened to 'Drink not with thine enemy.....?' 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 23/12/2025Doctor Who - The Web of Fear (1968 - Dir. Douglas Camfield) 010
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 17/12/2025If you see this, repost with your favourite onscreen moment from SF, Fantasy or Horror. The panning shot after "if you will not turn, then perhaps she will" gives me goosebumps every time. The direction, the emotion, and THAT SCORE. 030
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Bit of spackle, and probably a couple of days to dry now... 020
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 10/12/2025Thank you, that's very kind of you to say. I still haven't finished my last project - it needs weathering (no 3d printing involved, all just fibreboard, card and household bits) 120
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 10/12/2025Made a very rough start on a foamcore skeleton for my next shelf display. Always soothing to get back to a build. 230
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 07/12/2025Trekkies: if you see this, post your first experience with Star Trek. Like the quoted post, I can remember a specific episode but have been watching since the mid 70's. I got this for Christmas and utterly devoured it. 160
Jonathan Hird @jonhird.bsky.social · 04/12/2025Without downland new pics, describe your vibe for today using an image from your gallery. 051
