Fun chat tonight. Thanks for giving it some order, Chris! #scriptchat

If anyone here is at the point where a script swap might be useful, let me know. I should have some time. #scriptchat

Need to hear more about "knitting horror"! #scriptchat

330

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Yeah, my main priority at the moment is a horror feature (well, a weird thriller/horror/dark rom-com). Script is (I believe) in a good state. Working out where to pitch it/get money for it. #scriptchat

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Good for you. I definitely need to carve out more reading time. #scriptchat

I'm uncharacteristically here, if we're doing it. #scriptchat

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I've never actually done this, but just instinctually, I think I'd do something like this: "BILLY Hi! How are you? As Billy speaks the above line, the words simultaneously appear in a video game-esque text box." I think as long as you're clear, anything in this vein should do the trick.

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I've never been to AFM and (for various reasons) I had no plans to break that cycle this year. But someone went and planted a seed in my head that it might be good for me. Who's been? How have you liked it? What stage should your project(s) be at? #scriptsky #filmsky

Oh, gee, same here I guess. Hadn’t thought about that.

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Oh, I’m so glad Silver Snail gets your stamp of approval. That’s actually minutes away from my AirBNB, so had it on my radar. Will look up the others.

About to go to Toronto. Most of my time will be taken up by @tiffnet.bsky.social stuff or seeing friends, but may have some “wander the city” time. Please give suggestions for: 1) cool and simple Toronto attractions. 2) the best geek places (comics, toys, games…)

130

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

lol, these came up in the Twitter #scriptchat last week, so I've been telling myself all week to remember to make this one, but ended up missing it anyways. In my defense, I'm swamped with TIFF preparations.

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

In advance of networking at TIFF next month, I've reactivated the @theblcklst.bsky.social page for Just Like You with a new draft for this month: blcklst.com/projects/216... Debating on getting another evaluation. Do I wanna risk lowering the average of that sweet 7? #scriptsky

Sure, just remind me after the fact. I'm sure I'll also write about it on here a bit.

There's like 3700+ people on the delegates list already. I'm so overwhelmed!

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

My trip to @tiffnet.bsky.social Market next month is now official. I got the app and am ready to start planning my itinerary and sending out meeting requests. Do I know anyone going?

120

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Waiting on the edge of my seat to find out if I'm paying my way to TIFF or if my last shot at a sponsored trip comes through. Man, that would be nice.

120

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Hunkered down for Frontières Market for the next few days and ready to mingle. Might even get to check out a few Fantasia Fest films. If we’re BSky buddies and you’re in Montreal for either of these, let me know! #scriptsky #filmsky

Obsession was so creepy and good! Shout out to the guy who walked in 15 minutes before the end and started shouting "WTF?!" at everything. There's some fun similarities to my horror/dark rom-com WIP... may need to change my protag's name (Ben) to something less Bear adjacent. 😅 #scriptsky #filmsky

060

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Ok, ok. I’m finally seeing Obsession. Seems like it might have relevance to current WIPs, so mustered up the courage. Sitting near the exit in case it’s too scary though. 😅 #scriptsky #filmsky

070

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

My current script has a chinese restaurant, a coffee shop and a hot dog place with outdoor seating. Gotta get that location diversity in there! 😅 #scriptsky

110

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

I’ll sometimes think about it in my spare time, but I’ve never made the effort to put any cross-references in my scripts.

010

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Ooh, first three episodes of #XMen97 season two were really promising! Looking forward to the full season.

110

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

Long overdue, but I finally watched Get Out. Yes, it's very good! The exec I pitched today mentioned that it was a strong comp for my WIP... and yeah, it definitely is. From general vibe and theme, to some weirdly specific similarities. #filmsky #scriptsky

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

Just impulsively reserved a @stage32 pitch meeting for the first time in a while. The exec feels right up the alley for my current script and I need to keep practicing my pitch anyways, so what've I got to lose? #scriptsky

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 24/05/2026

Ugh... just kinda hit me all at once that I'm gonna be 40 in a month.

010

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 21/05/2026

I think #TheBoys finale was handled pretty well. Bittersweet seeing it end; this last season did have its ups and downs, but overall a very fun show.

I actually have, though it’s been a minute* (or ten years?). #scriptchat

110

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

Comics is something I still want to try writing at some point. It does feel like there’s a decent amount of overlap between that and screenwriting. #scriptchat #scriptsky

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

Some combination of: - Try pitch deck for WIP - Look into prodco’s to query - Start next new script (probably TV comedy) #scriptchat #scriptsky

I'm in transit, but will check in on and off! #scriptchat #scriptsky

Just listed a project on @theblcklst.bsky.social for the first time in... jeez, ten years, at least. Haven't hosted it just yet, but aiming to submit to the Tubi horror initiative. #scriptsky

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 29/04/2026

Making myself at least try a rough draft of a pitch deck for my WIP, before I get help from someone more talented. And I think I'm kinda cooking with this title page? #scriptsky

Title page of a pitch deck for a script titled "Just Like You". It’s been a great month for comic book TV. Daredevil, Invincible and The Boys all knocking it out of the park this season (*so far). Happy geek over here.

We pass the "'this is shit' phase" as often as a Monopoly token passes Go.

Interview went pretty well, I think! No huge gaffes 😅. Should know more before May.

I have an interview tomorrow for a big writing program. Starting to get butterflies over it.

Whaaaat? She looks like a deluxe stuffed animal, she's so cute!

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

Ah ha! That's what my script was missing!

000

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

What the heck, haven't shown a page from my WIP lately. And this one's cute. #scriptsky #17thPageSaturday

Starting on page 15 and ending on page 72... 14 instances of weird/weirdly. 🤦‍♂️

330

Jonathan Fournier @jonfour.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

My latest reader called me out on using "weird/weirdly" too much in my script. I believed her, but also thought "well, no one else called this out, it can't be THAT bad". Well, it is that bad. The worst case of me overusing a word in pretty much anything. Ugh! 😅 #scriptsky
