First listen to this record...a loaner from my friend, Greg...who knows a thing or two about chilling out. 🤣 Not my usual by far but I'm enjoying it. #steveeliovson #colinwalcott #dawndance #nowplaying #vinylsky #vinylcommunity

I bought Classics Performances of... back in high school but never owned any studio LP's. A friend gave me this one and Watt and I don't know that I ever listened. Checkin' out Ssssh now! #tenyearsafter #AlvinLee #nowplaying #vinylsky #vinylcommunity

Going through some records to see what goes in the trade pile. Haven't listened to this in a while and it may because it's a bit of a bummer in the same way I find Syd Barrett's solo material.

An oldie from when Doogs was a wee pup. Ceilidh finds him just as annoying to this very day. 🤣 #terriers #dogsarebetterthanpeople

Canadian pressing of 10CC's Deceptive Bends. I know the world is burning and pretty much nothing matters anymore, but this middle-aged white guy has become passionate about the fact Eric Stewart should be on some kind of pedestal. Fantastic guitarist. 🤌

Don't listen to this one often...but I really should. Mick Ronson rules of course, and I love Mike Garson's piano playing. The Liberace-like flourishes are perfect. #davidbowie #aladdinsane #nowplaying #vinylcommunity #vinylsky

Not one I listen to often but @twoozofplastic.bsky.social 's setlist the other day made me reach for the final Free LP. I bought my copy in Stirling, Scotland*...a little further north than their spiritual home of Sunderland! * From the fantastic Europa!

Had one of the Tech 21 Geddy Lee pedals in today. No power so seemed like the power supply protection diode might be the problem. It was. SMD construction is pretty much a deal breaker for me but I was able to solder in an old school 1N4148 diode...as God intended. 🤣

Pretty sure the first electronic projects I ever tackled were from this book. Many thanks to Craig Anderton for writing it all those years ago! Thinking I may finally tackle the talk box project so I can play Do You Feel Like We Do until my wife yells at me. 🤣

1971 produced *so* much good music. Shake Some Action is probably the most brilliant power pop tune ever but this is hands down my favourite Groovies LP. #flamingroovies #teenagehead #nowplaying #vinylsky #vinylcommunityommunity

I'm still a musical luddite but working on broadening my horizons. This one is about as accessible as jazz gets and it's a classic for good reason. This is a 2015 reissue, purchased new but it had a bad pressing flaw. My local favourite store let me swap it out and the second one is great. 🤌

Front cover of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue LP.

Hadn’t made a germanium treble booster for a while. A very simple circuit that sounds pretty amazing. Hats off to RG Keen, who in the early days of the internet, was beyond generous with his knowledge of old pedals and electronics in general.

Last Trump post for a while. This guy’s been driving me nuts for years. I’m always trying to understand why he does the things he does. Finally had a breakthrough this week. If you think of him first and foremost as a rapist - his actions make total sense.

Used to love these guys…to the point I bought this the day it was released…after hearing it in its entirety on Q107 the night before. Bought it at the flagship Sam the Record Man on Yonge Street, too. A good memory! Saw them at Ontario Place that summer for the first and only time.

Going through some old pics and found this project from about 10 years ago. I built these “suitcases” with Marshall parts. If you go see a Judas Priest cover band in the Winnipeg area not all the amps behind them are real. 🤣 #marshall #marshallamps #4x12 #diy #jonessound

Heard that Ritchie Blackmore got up to play with Purple the other night for the first time in 30-some years. Don’t listen to this one a lot anymore but I sure did! A Led Zeppelin IV-level classic. A cliché for very good reason. I always forget what a great tone Ritchie Blackmore had.

Marshall Silver Jubilee in for a checkup. Low background hum made me think filter caps but they still tested pretty good. Figured the thing was made in 1987 so filter caps were the likely culprit and replaced them anyway. Yep, that was it. #marshall #marshallamps #tubeamp #tubeamprepair

A newer Orange but true to the old school graphics. Weighs a ton, looks great, sounds awesome but not much fun on the wallet when it’s time for re-tube. Two of three preamp tubes were pretty tired and one of the 6550’s had croaked which is why it was in.
