You know what I feel equal parts excited and frustrated about? Every time I'm developing a new idea, I have a hard time finding reference art for it. Which means It's probably pretty unique but also, it's going to be so hard to explain. There's no reference art! 😂

Well, it worked. I went down an ADHD hyperfocus hole. 😂 I sent out 50+ emails last week, I have 45 going out tomorrow morning. I have 1 read request from a manager I'm trying not to get too excited about, but he's gotten people staffed on all my favorite shows. Fingers crossed! #scriptsky #becool

TFW you try to take the 3D Model from the concept artist, try to convert it to be used in After Effects but trying to get things to work in Blender feels like dialing a phone with a stick, through 4 feet of mud. Another day!

I loved Pierce Brosnan, too! I wish he'd been able to take the job years before when they first offered it to him (sadly his wife passed so he turned it down to grieve) His movies ended up being some of the most over the top. And I loved it. Would've loved to see him do more grounded versions too!

I watched this on Netflix the other night and forgot how gritty and brutal this movie was. A sharp contrast to the way the Bond franchise had been going. More and more over the top to the point of parodying itself. It was such a welcome and surprising change of tone.

Anybody else watching #Ponies on #Peacock? I love a spy movie/series, this one has such a fun & unique take on the genre. Funny, often over-the-top, then drags you back down to earth with heart-breaking dramatic or tense scenes. Great casting, an incredible central relationship! Much rec! #Scriptsky

Yeah, I like that ending, it's a solid, external goal. "When an enigmatic young girl shows up on her dead mother’s doorstep, a woman haunted by the literal ghosts of her past" I'm confused as to who's the main character. The girl or the woman? What's with the dead mother?

If "charismatic young man" is our main character, what other words could you use to describe him? Something with a bit more bite to it? Maybe shorter? "A charismatic young man tries to impress his long-time crush by luring her into his mock cult, which blows up out of his control"??? Fake cult?

There's a whole cottage industry based around telling new writers they shouldn't write like professionals. It drives me bonkers. A contact once made me strip the personality out of a script because "it wasn't professional" The script went from great responses to ignored. NEVER AGAIN! Thank you!

Every time I do it, I feel like I've never written a word in my life. Then I spend days toiling over every word, "Is that the right one?" "Hmmm... outlaws makes it sound western. What other words could I use?" But it's like the trailer for your script, SO important to get it right.

Yeah, I think so! It gives me a good idea of what the movie is about now. Maybe instead of "must question" you could say "questions" Is the store owner one of the ones affected by his closures? Is there a way to work that in? I think you got it!

Here's what I was taught, it's served me well Main Character (vivid adjective) Central Conflict (powerful verb) Goal (clear external goal) So maybe a Cutthroat corporate bigwig? Snowed in with an idealistic store owner? (Someone affected by his cuts?) What is this person's clear, external goal?

What are they doing? Playing the playbook. The random, unprovoked violence is the point. This isn't about immigration, it's about the #1 thing in the dictator handbook. Create an "enemy" and tell people you're the only one who can save them from this threat. Resist Peacefully. It will unwind them...

Man, this last season of Stranger Things was so great! The relationships were great, the characters did so much. I love that during the big finale, they took time out for Will's coming out. Hands down my favorite season since the first. Sad to see it go, but what an end!

After a year writing & rewriting my 1st script, I decided to turn my attention to a story that meant more to me. A Hughes-style high school movie about a punk rock kid & his best friends, their lives turn upside down when he falls for a transfer student who becomes a cheerleader. #Scriptsky

The other thing that just occurred to me, is your main character causing things to happen in your story or are they along for the ride as things happen to them? They should be making choices that make things happen to them. Consequences of their actions.
