It’s warm & dry here in Bucks, though turning more Autumnal & dropping in temp & getting wetter mid-week. Planting is really just defined by when the tomatoes stop & I gain some space! #GardensHour

‪Evening #GardensHour at some point this month I’ll clear the tomatoes and put these onion sets in‬ their place. It’s been a very good year for the tomatoes and I hope for a good onion harvest next year

Perhaps Alpines would work if there’s enough sun. Infinite varieties available & many wouldn’t get too large #GardensHour

‪My favourite find for this week was noticing the exquisite detail in this Persicaria flower as it caught the early evening sun #GardensHour‬

I’ve grown these before. Some soak them in water for a day to soften the coating, and they like a bit of bottom heat to get them going #GardensHour

This is why it’s a waste of water to use it on established lawns! #GardensHour

This month I’ll probably purchase some tulip bulbs whilst there’s still a large selection to choose from in the garden centres, but I usually plant them in November #GardensHour

Evening everyone on #GardensHour tonight. GREEN for #SixWeeksOfColour gives us a wide scope! If I’m honest I’d be happy if plants had no other colour. Creating a garden with all the leaf shapes & textures is enough for me!

Evening #GardensHour people! Chilli peppers and Cannas are beginning to flower in the continued heat & drought. How are others gardens faring?

Here in the UK we certainly get cold Winters! I find my Nicotiana die off but then grow anew from naturally sown seed the following year. I’d presume it would be the same for you too. Worth a try perhaps?

‪I don’t tend to do baskets & containers at home although I’ve planted them up for other people. I find water retaining granules are helpful, and a granular feed mixed in helps gives plants a slow-release feed #GardensHour‬
