Yeah that story got penalized. Orange is the front page ranking, black is the ranking it should have given the raw ranking formula with no penalties. HN moderators often apply penalties to news and political stories, even if they are very tech-adjacent. news.social-protocols.org/stats?id=496...

Thanks—we checked the published records: parent/root point to the right posts, with matching CIDs. replyCount includes the bot, but getPostThread omits it; it’s not in hiddenReplies. Could this be AppView-side filtering, or is there another threading requirement we should check?
