Atlas announces it will build a 40,000-seat stadium along with the Universidad de Guadalajara, to be home to both Atlas & Leones Negros. Populous is leading the design process. The goal is for the stadium to open in 2030. RENDERINGS!

Mexico just announced that Chucky Lozano suffered a hamstring injury in training yesterday, won't play tonight & will head back to the Galaxy tomorrow for recovery. The injury is a "left biceps femoris musculotendinous junction injury" so...where his hammy connects to the knee, I think?

I jinxed the USVI yesterday, saying they had a foot in League B. Saint Martin wins 5-0. Ran it up a bit at the end, but the first half was wave after wave (with tons of corners, which eventually led to the opener). Both teams now on 6 points w a match left v Bahamas. Could come down to GD.

Note that the news release calls it "Estadio Monterrey" - sponsorship 'clashes' have been a big part of Mexico's reluctance to play in some of the country's biggest markets & best stadiums. (Banorte, ironically HQed in Monterrey, is currently the official bank of the Mexico national team)

The Mexico men's national team FINALLY is headed back to Monterrey, announcing today it will play its November 17 home Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal at the Estadio BBVA. It's the first time Mexico will play at Rayados' stadium & first since October 2018 it is playing in Nuevo Leon.
