Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Life/work has been busy (in a good way). I’m hoping to get back to playing some tunes for you really soon!

Life’s been getting in the way, so no new videos for a bit. Here’s a video of “Duck River” from David Benedict‘s Fiddle Tune February last year. Seriously check him out if you’re learning mandolin- his patreon is a wealth of information! #mandolinmonday #folkmusic #mandolin #tieflingbard #duckriver

No videos this weekend… overwhelmed with work and haven’t learned any new songs.

I didn’t have time to shoot new content this week, so let’s revisit Tam Lin for #MandolinMonday #mandolin #bardlife #tieflingbard #folkmusic

Barebones attempt at “Scarborough Faire”. I would love to add some flourishes on this one. #MandolinMonday #folkmusic #tieflingbard #octavemandolin #mandolin

I’ve been working on my violining. Part of getting better and developing my ear is realizing how much I need to dial in my intonation. At least I have lots of room to grow. #violin #practice #fiddle #lacinquintaine #tieflingbard

Seems relevant to share this #FolkloreFriday again. The Werewolf trials of Bedburg amply demonstrate abuses of power, unjust persecution, and gaslighting to fit a false narrative. Remember, if you know a werewolf, no you f*cking don’t. #fuckice #historyrepeatsitself #werewolftrials

#MandolinMonday with “Breeches Mary” I’d love to work on this one a little more to add some ornamentation. #mandolin #octavemandolin #tieflingbard #irishjig

Here’s a little excerpt from last week’s #MandolinMonday I found a different arrangement for “Whiskey Before Breakfast” and attempted to sight read it #mandolin #tieflingbard #folkmusic #bardlife

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the banjo is the hardest instrument I’ve tried to learn. Thank you kindly to @/jacktellmusic for putting up with my butchering of your favorite songs. Here’s a rough and slow attempt at “Blackberry Blossom” #bluegrass #banjo #tieflingbard

#MandolinMonday Who knows what I’m playing? Because I don’t. I must have flipped to some song I’ve never played before and tried to sight read it…. But didn’t make a note of what it was. Oops #mandolin #bard #tiefling

So I’m taking banjo lessons- learning the finger picking style (still working on clawhammer on my own too). Learning the three finger style is a workout for my brain. Here’s me trying to do some simple rolls (key word: trying) #banjo #bard #bardlife #tiefling

In my humble opinion, everything sounds better in a minor key. Ominous “Whiskey before Breakfast” for #MandolinMonday #mandolin #folkmusic #tiefling #bard #bluegrass #fiddle #minorkey

Sorry I don’t have a Mandolin Monday song ready for today! Between the extreme heat and just being very busy, I didn’t have time to record a new piece! Apologies and I hope to get back in the groove next week!

For #MandolinMonday here is a rough first attempt at “Lark in the Morning” Usually the first time I play a song, I don’t add much swing and I try to just get through the whole thing, mistakes and all. After that it’s all about refining. #mandolin #jig #folkmusic #music #bard #bardlife #tiefling
