New interview with Alan Moore, what a legend www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4MV...
A close-up shot of absolute legend Alan Moore with a long, frizzy grey beard and mustache, and grey hair pulled back, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. He is wearing a black shirt and sitting in a red leather chair. Behind him is a wooden cabinet and a blue artwork with a yellow star. In the top left corner is a logo for the podcast "Half the Picture." Subtitles at the bottom read: "brief honest answer would be massive amounts of hashish."

An epic struggle against bad taste that reverberates through generations
Five multi-ethnic young adults with diverse sub-cultural signifiers stand against a solid teal background, cheering and raising their arms in celebration. Why, you may ask? Possibly because they love 'Zima', the 'industry plant' alcoholic beverage.

In the center, a man wearing a white tank top and a white baseball cap with a pink brim holds a blue six-pack carrier of Zima. He looks so thrilled.

To his left, a woman in denim overalls and a yellow top raises both hands, holding a bottle in one, while another woman in a pink jacket also holds a bottle aloft. Are they cheering for a sports team?

To the right, a man with long hair and a beard shouts excitedly with a bottle in his raised hand. This is attempted 'grunge' representation. Can he genuinely be this happy? A blonde woman stands partially behind him. Many tattoos on the group; hard to make out in this picture though.

Love to hear that Michael Cohen stick it to Trumpo, I wonder what he's up to lately Based on their pedigree there's nobody I trust more to lead The Resistance than Michael Cohen, Lev Parnas, Rick Wilson, The Bulwark, amazing chaps all
A promotional graphic for "The Lincoln Project Podcast" hosted by Rick Wilson, featuring special guest Michael Cohen. The image displays a retro, propaganda-style illustration of Abraham Lincoln wearing large headphones and speaking into a vintage microphone, with his index finger raised. The design uses a patriotic American color scheme of red, white, and blue, featuring stars, stripes, and a red and yellow sunburst background behind Lincoln. Text at the top reads "The Lincoln Project Podcast," with "With Host: Rick Wilson" in large yellow letters on the right, and "Special Guests: Michael Cohen" in the bottom left corne

I'm OK with an attempt at a wide view, unusual angle, big synthesis. (Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire!) Just take a step back after that, let other smart people chew it over, chew it up.
Book cover for "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond, 20th Anniversary Edition. The author's name appears in large black letters at the top, with the title "GUNS GERMS & STEEL" in bold teal text below. A black circular badge on the right indicates "20th Anniversary Edition with a new afterword by the author." The subtitle reads "A short history of everybody for the last 13,000 years" in orange text. At the bottom are three symbolic images: two brass bullet cartridges representing guns, a mosquito representing germs, and a metal nut representing steel. The cover notes "Over One Million Copies Sold" at the bottom. Critics argue that the book relies too heavily on environmental determinism, effectively removing human agency and portraying historical outcomes as mere geographic accidents. Additionally, scholars note that the theory oversimplifies complex global developments by underemphasizing the crucial roles of political institutions, cultural choices, and intra-societal inequalities. The book cover for "Nudge: The Final Edition" by Richard H. Thaler and Cass R. Sunstein. The cover features a white background with the title "NUDGE" in large black letters. Below the title, three elephants walk in a line from left to right: a large black silhouette, a medium orange silhouette, and a tiny blue silhouette. A blue circular badge reads "Revised and Updated from Cover to Cover." At the top, text identifies it as a "New York Times Bestseller" and includes a quote from Daniel Kahneman. The authors' names appear at the bottom, noting Thaler as a winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics. A small Penguin Books logo is in the bottom left corner. Critics have argued that nudge theory lacks strong evidence of long-term effectiveness and raises ethical questions about who decides what constitutes the "right" choice. Some psychologists also contend that the concept has been overextended to the point of meaninglessness, with nearly any behavioral influence now being called a "nudge."

I attempted to do this on Spotify, and even with a paid plan it kept kicking me out of my playlist. (I remember ipods, shouldn't be that complicated!) Quit Spotify and bought a 'digital audio player', quite happy with it.
Picture of a Hiby R3 II digital audio player. It is my 2nd proper digital audio player. This has 'balanced' output which is a bit fancy and largely unnecessary but it's fun to explore.

The great thing about having music outside of one's phone is it doesn't drain the battery, isn't dependent on signal. And the sound quality is much much better.

I download, swap and rip music these days. I am uninterested in 'renting' my music, my media.

The Queen Bee would like a word
A comic book panel featuring the DC Comics character Zazzala, also known as Queen Bee, the alien leader of the hive-world Korll. She is a dark-skinned woman with black hair styled in a high, swept-back bun, wearing a form-fitting black and yellow bodysuit with black circles on the chest. A large, yellow-and-black striped insect tail extends behind her, reflecting her bee-like alien physiology. Her right arm is equipped with a large, black mechanical gauntlet featuring multiple circular barrels—her "Stinger Gun," a weapon capable of energy projection and mind control. She wears a silver headset over her left ear. Her expression is angry and authoritative as she shouts, with a speech bubble reading, "ZZSTAND AWAY FROM THAT CONSSZZZOLE, PLEASE," the extra "Z"s indicating a buzzing, electronic voice. The background features red and beige panels, suggesting the interior of a vehicle or room.

A colorful vintage poster for the animated film "Shinbone Alley." In the center stands a large, anthropomorphic female cat with bright orange hair, glasses, and a pink bodysuit with red gloves and boots, striking a glamorous pose. The title "SHINBONE ALLEY" is written at the bottom in large, pink, 3D block letters designed to look like city skyscrapers. Several smaller anthropomorphic animals, including dogs and cats in suits, are dancing on and around the letters. One small blue character sits on the main cat's raised hand. Text in the top left corner reads "carol channing," "eddie bracken," "as archy and mehitabel," and "sing! dance! enchant! in." Small text at the very bottom reads "THE WONDERFUL REAL ROMANCE OF ARCHY AND MEHITABEL."

Book cover for "The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism" by Tim Alberta. The cover features a silhouetted black church with a tall steeple topped by a cross against a gray gradient background. The church's stained glass windows are designed as American flags, with stars on blue fields in the upper portions and red and white stripes below. The title appears in large white text across the steeple, with the subtitle beneath it. At the bottom, the author's name "TIM ALBERTA" is displayed, with a note identifying him as a New York Times bestselling author of American Carnage.

I can't understand why people voting against mainstream democrats, it's so odd
Podcast-style promo graphic with a clean, high-contrast layout. The background is a smooth teal-to-green gradient, brighter at the top and slightly warmer/greener toward the bottom. Centered near the top is the show logo: “THIS IS” in small white letters above “GAVIN NEWSOM” in large, bold, hand-painted-style yellow text.

Below the logo, a line of headline text reads “Episode 4:” in yellow, followed by “AND, THIS IS STEVE BANNON” in white, all in a modern sans-serif font. Under that, the date appears in very large, bold, all-caps white letters: “WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12.”

The lower half features two sharply lit, cropped portrait photos set against the gradient. Oh look, it's Gavin Newsom. Hair immaculate (looks great for media, but the hair would look weird in person) smiling broadly, wearing a dark blue jacket with a high collar over a lighter shirt; his posture is relaxed and forward-facing. On the right is Steve Bannon, glowering with stubble and a stern expression, wearing a black jacket over a black shirt. He looks like he's about to announce the suspension of the constitution, or eat a live baby.

Two men in suits stand side-by-side in a casino setting with blurred, colorful lights in the background. It's a scene from 'The Big Short' where two of the short-sellers realize the market will crash. The man on the left has dark hair and wears a blue blazer over a light blue checkered shirt, while the man on the right has dark curly hair, wears wire-rimmed glasses, and a grey blazer. A screenshot of a news aggregation page displaying multiple headlines regarding a scandal involving Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner.
The main headline at the top reads, "Wife of Maine candidate Graham Platner disclosed explicit texts." Behind him is a campaign banner that partially reads "GRAHAM PLATNER U.S. SENATE."

"Maybe get a blister on your little finger Maybe get a blister on your thumb"
A low-poly 3D animated character stands in front of a wall of television monitors.

The blocky character wears blue coveralls with yellow shoulder straps, a blue cap, and yellow gloves. He has a thick mustache, wide staring eyes, and an open-mouthed expression of amazement or bewilderment.

Behind him, multiple TV screens arranged in a grid display what appears to be music video footage. The scene features a blue and purple color scheme, with a black-and-white checkered floor visible on the left side.

[3/3] Some aging bands simply 'play the hits', others seem to genuinely be having fun. Pop Will Eat Itself remains fairly on-brand: graphics straight from 1989, occasionally releasing music at a moderate pace; their Facebook page full of geriatric ravers.
A concert poster for the band PWEI (Pop Will Eat Itself) promoting their "Delete-everything" event. The top features the band's logo in large white letters against a red and black digital, glitch-style background. Below the logo is a photo of five band members arranged in a collage; they are wearing sunglasses and dark clothing, with a central figure in a beanie looking forward. The text "DELETE-everything" appears in a stylized white font beneath the band. The bottom section provides event details in white and red text: "Saturday 16th May 2026" at "Roadmender" in "NORTHAMPTON." A promotional poster for "The Human League Generations US Tour 2026" featuring special guests Soft Cell & Alison Moyet. The image displays three figures against a blue and purple gradient background. In the center foreground stands a bald man in a white suit jacket who features a distinct, small, and somewhat weird-looking isolated patch of dark hair on his chin (a soul patch), contrasting with his otherwise clean-shaven face. Behind him are two women, one with dark hair and one with blonde hair. A white audio waveform graphic runs across the lower section, separating the band members from a list of tour dates and cities printed at the bottom.

The design features a retro synthwave aesthetic with a large yellow sun and purple grid background against a night sky. The headlining acts, Morrissey and Smashing Pumpkins, are displayed in large, stylized blue and purple text. Below them is a dense list of supporting artists in various fonts and colors, including Simple Minds, Bad Religion, Adam Ant, Soft Cell, The Damned, Manic Street Preachers, Gary Numan, and Silversun Pickups. The bottom of the poster reads "On The Beach" and lists the website DarkerWavesFest.com.

Dennis Prager: I woke up today, put on a nice suit, and got on a bus that crashed through the gates of a university. Now I am watching in my sensible suit with my hands in my pockets, contentedly, as Adam Carolla deservedly harangues students with a microphone; this is normal and good
Against a bright blue sky and a college-campus backdrop, a large yellow caution-sign logo reading “NO SAFE SPACES” dominates the top center, with the “O” in “NO” replaced by a crossed-out baby pacifier symbol. At the top, the names “ADAM CAROLLA” and “DENNIS PRAGER” appear in large white and black letters. In the foreground, a smiling man in a plaid shirt strides forward holding a megaphone toward the viewer, while an older man in a dark suit and red tie stands behind him with his hands in his pockets. Between them is a large bus labeled “PRAGER / CAROLLA,” parked in front of open wrought-iron campus gates and brick pillars. Interestingly, with a campus building BEHIND the two, it appears that they have broken OUT of a campus than INTO a campus.
