Just poking my head back in. 13 months since I was last here. And it's the only social media I have. Just checking in. Because regardless of not using it lately, I still recommend it to others. 🙄 Got lots of new pictures. I'll post some. Next time I visit. July 2027?

Still have mine from first year of college - 1963. In a lovely leather case with loop for hanging in the belt. 😅

"Again"? The only rationale for that is if it worked the first time.

1/8 scale? I don't think so. This would require it to be about 75 feet long. Perhaps 1/80 scale. But still, yes, a beautiful model.

Dark Angel, Arches National Park, 24 August 2007 #photography #landscape #redrock #geology #bluesky #ArchesNP #Utah #CanonPowerShotD1000
A narrow near-rectangular rock formation reaches up to the sky. It stands atop a red dirt slope. The base of the formation is light coloured, but turns dark with desert varnish a few feet off the ground. Small shrubs are scattered around the rick. A cloudless blue sky forms the background. And no-one is considering the possibility of an orange fool as US President.

I've seen this meme a few times. I am convinced the math is wrong. A negative number reduces the total.

Entrance to Upper Antelope Canyon. A few years later, I was to "discover" the less advertised Lower Antelope Canyon which I prefer, if for no other reason than it avoids the bone crushing jeep ride to get there. #photography #landscape #canyon #Arizona
A group of people entering a narrow slit in a sandstone cliff. They are walking over near white sand. A small sliver of blue sky overhead.

Upper Antelope Canyon, Page, AZ, 2 September 2007 #photography #landscape #redrock #canyon #naturalabstract #SonyA100
A narrow twisting canyon, horizontal lines of sandstone layers visible, multiple shades of red rock, a small patch of white at the top where the canyon is open to the sunLooking through a narrow gap where both walls of the canyon appear a deep violet into l more brightly lit section which is glowing orange. On the lower right is a silhouetted head where someone crept into the image

Waterfall, Logan Pass, Going to the Sun Highway, Glacier NP, MT Mountain in second image is Clements Peak. 30 July 2006 #photography #landscape #waterfall #GlacierNP #hiking #bluesky #Polaroidi832
A waterfall cascades down a rocky slope to disappear into a culvert under a paved road on which there is a double yellow line. On the left side of the slope are tall evergreens, on the right, low shrubs. Overhead, cloudless blue skies. In retrospect, the Polaroidi832 was a pretty good little camera which I picked up, remaindered for C$99. Even in 2006, a real bargain.A paved highway runs across the image, below it is a lightly treed slope, across it there is a steeper slope with grasses leading up to evergreens on the left, on the right a waterfall tumbling through a rocky gorge then a steep rock slupe. Above, on the left is a mountain, steep and rocky. Overhead, the sky is blue.

University of Montana and City of Missoula Photographed from above the big "M" on the mountain overlooking the university and city, 26 July 2006 #photography #landscape #cityscape #hiking #Missoula #ClarkForkRiver #Polaroidi832
Scene overlooking a city with a river running through it. In the immediate foreground is half of a large concrete "M" on a downslope. Just at the foot of the M, a couple of people are sitting on the grass enjoying the view. At the bottom of the slope are university buildings including a tall residence building and sports stadium. In the distance, beyond the city, lad rises into surrounding hills / mountains. Overhead a narrow band of hazy blue sky. And there is no thought that an ignorant orange clown could possibly become US President.

Yes! Lock themselves in a room. Then the Dems can further lock the doors from the outside. Have the Senate chamber to themselves. And they have a quorum as long as none of them question it.

Crawford Arch on Bridge Mountain, Zion NP, March 2006 The arch looks small in the image, but it is 427 ft (130 meters) long. It is about 1000 ft or 300 meters above the floor of the canyon. Handheld with 300mm lens #photography #landscape #RockyTuesday #analogue #Zion #redrock #bluesky
On a steep reddish sandstone incline surrounded by trees, a natural arch reaches higher up the mountain. Above, cloudless blue skies.

The Larson and Fife cabins, Kolob Canyons, Zion NP 8 June 2006 Constructed in the 1930s as summer homes, these two cabins were on the verge of collapse when photographed. Stabilized and repaired to a degree since then #photography #architecture #landscape #logcabin #Zion #SonyDSCF828
Larson Cabin: A small log cabin in disrepair stands in red dirt clearing amongst trees. Behind, a red rock butte towers into the blue sky (washed out by overexposure) A couple of lens flares obscure the butte. And the US president is not whining about his lack of a Nobel prize.Fife Cabin: A log cabin stands in a clearing amongst trees. The roof has holes and there are unplugged gaps between the logs. A metal mesh door blocks entry for safety reasons. On the right in front of the cabin is an information sign. Light shines through the leaves. And an orange clown is not the American President.

Actually it must be a politician or a previous winner. As UN peacekeeping forces were awarded a peace prize and I served on two missions, I could probably nominate him. But I won't.

Double Arch Alcove, Kolob Canyons, Zion NP 8 June 2004 #photography #landscape #redrock #ZionNP #Utah #SonyDSCF828
Looking into an alcove in red sandstone. Tree branches covered with fresh green leaves are in the foreground. The red rock is streaked with desert varnish. Deep in the alcove, the dark streaks are from water seeping through the rock. At the top of the image the red rock and the small patch of sky turn white (overexposure of that part of the image)

View from Indian Gardens / Bright Angel Trail 23 November 2003 #photography #landscape #GrandCanyonNP #bluesky #BrightAngelTrail #CanonPowershotG2
From a shadowed viewpoint in a valley (actually an earthquake fault) in which dusky-green trees and shrubs are just visible, we look out on a flat plateau, and beyond that, the sun is shining on a number of buttes. Through the clow clouds, another higher butte is just visible. Billowing clouds reach up into a blue sky.

On this day in 2003 there was no sense that someone who could run multiple casinos into bankruptcy could possible become US President, nor that he could somehow be more ludicrously incompetent at that job than in operating casinos

An image of Half Dome at sunset. A shadow line across the rock face shows the progress of the setting sun. In front of the rock formation, a line of pine trees are silhouetted. Above the rock the sky is a cloudless blue.In a wide stream, sandy banks on both sides, an orange reflection of Half Dome framed by reflections of trees and a blue sky. The stream narrows further up the frame as it flows through meadows and green trees.
