Traffic is heavy on 101 south of Orick.

A heard of maybe 40 Roosevelt Elk cross the highway, stopping traffic. The traffic piled up on the other side too eventually. It took maybe 15 or 20 minutes for the whole herd to cross. The little ones were curious.

I can't figure out 🐢 If it's the end or beginning 🐢 Happy Autumnal Equinox

The last rose of summer, yellow in an ode to the passing season, fully bloomed, on the bush, a little pale toward the outer edges.

Sunlight filters through a redwood forest illuminating the path in dappled, patchy patterns of shadow and bright light and nourishing the ferns that line the path.

Little girl lost in a forest of dreams It's a dark old wood, and it's damp with dew #ForestFriday #Redwood

Looking through a redwood forest, the camera doesn't really capture the size. Ferns up close, sunlight filters through in the distance. A big old gnarled tree in the front and lots of younger trees further away, some growing in groups of 3 or 5.

We can discover the wonders of nature, rolling in the rushes down by the riverside #ThickTrunkThursday #Redwoods

The camera never conveys how big these things really are. A trail winds its way through a forest of redwood trees. The trail is named Cathedral Trees trail in Prairie Creek State Park in Humboldt County, California, US.

There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town Takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down Happy Birthday Mickey and Beata #FlowerFriday #Bloomscrolling

A red rose. Very red. A bit oversaturated on the sunny right side. A big one too, in the midpoint of its bloom cycle. Another just like it is in the background partially out of frame.

When the last #rose of summer pricks my finger And the hot sun chills me to the bone Happy Birthday Pigpen.

A rose, yellow on the inside, white with a bit of red at the edges. It won't be the last rose this summer but we're getting closer.

Believe it if you need it, if you don't, just pass it on #RoseWednesday

A pink rose. Taken on a sunny day, not like today. Healthy green leaves surround it.

When you're a pelican, you don't ask "What's for dinner?". It's fish. It's always fish. But the where and when make all the difference.

Sunset on the beach, with a few pelicans flying by. Samoa, tonight.

The ice cream idea is good

Mickey mouse floating through the air, drawn by the smell of fresh baked pie. Hands devoid of ice cream though.
