We're heading that way but it's not set in stone. You are right though, there is no one coming to intervene on our behalf. This will be on us, we have to be the people that correct this, and we're going to have to learn how. No passing the buck to the next generation We save it, or it dies.

It's not difficult to see how concentrating wealth can collapse a nation, historical examples abound. A free market can't be free when the majority of capital, labor, and resources are controlled by less than 1% of the population. Nor is a nation free when its citizens are beholden to the same 1%.

But you can lead them to finding truth on their own, and allow their own internal logic to override that opinion. People tend to be very quick to adapt to a new truth to avoid admitting they were ever wrong. Not universally true of course, everyone's different, but most people can change.

Empathy. Place yourself in their shoes, understand as best you can, enter into a dialogue (not an argument) on common ground, and try to help them bridge the gaps that led them to unclear thinking. Understand that changing a worldview can be traumatic at first, or if done incorrectly.

That very economic system has made the world more interdependent than ever before. Knowledge can be shared globally and instantly. It is possible, but by no means easy, to use the world economic engine to usher in a form of world peace (or at least closer to). Evil doesn't have to be our fate.

It's not that it can't be seen, but it is all about belief. What people believe about each other, themselves, the environment... its a complicated mesh of lies, deceit, mis/disinformation all woven to hide a truth many don't even want to face. There is some hope, however.

They made me repeat "With Liberty and Justice for All" every school day until high school. It's not my fault I took that seriously. Humanity and love will be essential in the days ahead. Absolutely essential.

He has an obsession with the anti-Christ, and yet he is totally blind to his own nature. People like Thiel and Musk talk like genuinely believe they are taking action for humanity's best interest. They've convinced themselves that they must do evil, for the "greater good", but there is no good.

Yeah, this is bad. This is a nightmare team to be in charge during the rise of A.I. JD Vance admitted he's hoping they lead us to the "end times". We're facing a very dark future under these people.

"setting the standard". The Law only means as much as it is enforced. A tragedy of the commons describes what happens to a system when individuals act in their own self interest without seeing the repercussions of others doing the same. Our rule of law has become such a tragedy. Eroded bit by bit

Part of the issue we're facing is that they don't see everything Trump is doing. There's a coordinated multi billion dollar effort to suppress information online and keep people in certain areas/apps from getting the whole picture. Many people do not realize they are in an algorithmic info bubble.

Yeah Christian Nationalism is closer to anti-Christ than Christ. They took the name, tossed out the teachings.

Trump did say the only guardrails A.I. needs is a high I.Q. president. I guess that means A.I. is without true guardrails. Trump is taking us down the absolute worse path for A.I. development.

Hegseth and Trump are sabotaging national defense. We are less safe as a country, and less safe as individual people because of them. Incompetence so extreme it looks intentional. Department of "WAR". I guess the departments of conquest, famine, and death are next.

And that's not all that difficult to do. Shareholder supremacy and personal greed has just been the culture norm for decades. Cultural norms can change.

A lot of damage has been done, but we still have the potential to become better stewards. There's a change brewing in the people out there. I think a great number of people are ready to build something better, and just don't know how.

Not saying I don't see it on the left as well. But so far, in my area, EVERY campaign ad I've seen from Republicans has been A.I. generated. No real people giving testimony, just nonliving voices saying what they've been told to. Disgraceful.

Either repeat or just rhyme, either way it's heartbreaking to see. But I do take solace in that it appears like a good many of us have learned the lessons, and have learned to not just stand by. I'm hopeful, but still scared about the direction we're going.

"The Banality of Evil" is worth checking out. To some degree, we became cruel because cruelty became boring. Dehumanizing language from those in power creates a class of people that it is "okay" to be cruel to an out-group, the culture grows to assume its routine to be cruel.

Since WWII was a major lesson in school when I was growing up, I used to believe that the world had learned the lessons it needed to never allow it to happen again. It sucks being wrong.

I see knowledge as sacred, learning as sacred. There's something spiritual and uniquely human about the process of figuring life out. Seeing misinformation across every platform is almost painful. It's like watching someone plant poison fruit outside a school. The information war is exhausting.

Vance claims that he's doing "God's work" and he's okay if that leads to the end times. In many ways, they have to work towards a collapse. Otherwise they have to admit they were wrong. Its a terrifying fallacy.

Voting alone, no, but voting will be essential. Its what goes in to getting people to vote that makes the change. Activism, gathering, educating whenever possible. The way out of this is a cultural revolution, stop sitting at tables we were meant to flip.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Its part of the plan. Trump knows to "flood the zone", as proposed by Bannon. Trump personally overwhelms the media as a psychological tactic. Keep people too angry at each other, or too stressed on their own, to get the strength necessary to stop it. We're being played.

Dignity is inherent to all, it's not something we can choose for some and not for others. Having easy access to clean water, food, shelter, security, education, purpose, freedom... this is what dignity requires. We should stop at nothing to become a civilization that puts life over profit.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
A.I. is legitimately terrifying. The threats are myriad and the point of no return is about as ill-defined as possible. Trump has no idea the power he's toying with. He is literally gambling with WWIII and A.I. takeover. I never wanted to be a doomsayer, but the stakes are too high for silence.

Christ warned against false teachers, and said we'd know them by their fruits. The fruits of this administration are violence over peace, deceit over truth, money over life. Their hypocrisy is plain as day.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
And the truth is we are not benefiting from it. The modern world was built from the fruits of labor of the average person, yet only a select few can nourish themselves from the garden we all dug. Read your article, too. It's good work.

That life saving scientific research is part of our purpose as a people. We have all these tools, all these discoveries, all this brainpower... It's so clear that we are meant to work together to reduce the suffering of humanity worldwide. We're stewards of life. Trumpism is anti-human.
000
John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Just numbers, sadly. At 8 billion people worldwide, if only .1% to 1% have it in them to be genuinely greedy and make genuinely harmful decisions, that's 8 million to 80 million people who are willing to do the work to "win" and seek power for the wrong reasons.

I know it's hard to hear. But the way out of this mess and into a better world is through peace, and it can't be done with only half the population. That means finding ways to reconcile, to build bridges to people who you disagree with. It means letting go of the hate. The future needs all of us

It is clear (as it always has been) that oil is the single biggest national security liability for the US. Our entire economy is dependent on just a handful of waterways in some of the most destabilized regions on the planet. Our dependency on foreign oil is a critical fault point in security.

For those that need it: Potash is a major part of fertilizer. The discovery of potash is one of the reasons why our population is 8 billion. It is essential to agriculture, we cannot feed people (or animals) without it. Handing it over to Russian influence is a major national security risk.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Very true. This gets compounded by group identity as well. Its not just about siding with Trump. Trump has positioned himself as the one siding with Christians, so defecting from Trump (to some, not all) means defecting from their faith. Trump and co. know this, and use it as a manipulation tactic.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
His obsession with A.I. is genuinely terrifying. This is a technology that has the capability of being a super-weapon. It has a very blurry point-of-no-return and requires really well conceived guardrails and international regulation. Trump has no respect for or the concept of its danger.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Or the future of this planet or even our species. We've reached the stage as a people where a single nations power can determine the fate of humanity. Every choice we have to make must be made carefully, and Trump is leading us to a full dead end.

We'll elect officials based on what "service providers" they represent, whether we want nestle or pepsi brand water available for our personal use, or which company we buy soldiers from, or if our hospital is allowed to use trademark antibiotics.

A possible outcome of this type of government is an illiberal corporatocracy. Elections are held but who runs is predetermined by a donor class. State power is limited to managing bids for what corporation will control what service.

I remember people were witnessing it in real time and calling it out. It's not like it was subtle, I guess they thought no one cared enough to bring consequences, so why hide.

When we take a step back it's easy to see how much of our elections are determined by a few million purple voters in battleground states. Every conversation to change someone's mind has an entry point on common ground, trying to gain ideological ground by attacking core beliefs isn't going to work.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I can't say I know exactly what that must be like, I had such aspirations once upon a time before I discovered how much of a hippy I am, but I've always seen service with honor. I feel horrible for the people serving through this. No one deserves to have their honor and sacrifice stolen for profit.

Certainly seems that way. The US has never been perfect my our standards now, but we did try to make the world a better place at times. In much of my readings I keep landing on Reagan and the surrounding policies as a real pivot point in history that set us down a bad path.

If I were trying to destroy the advantage of the U.S. Military, if I were trying to waste tax dollars, or force good military personnel to retire, or destabilize world order for profit... I'd hire Hegseth to do it. Perfect pawn, blinded by ambition, motivated by wealth, numbed by addiction.

I'm seeing it in my own community. Dems have had majority control for a time, but they've done no outreach. Our opinions have been "written off" because we are in a hard blue area, the win is assured so they don't want to change. Its foolish to keep the status quo.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I think its what, 9 million people? that voted for both Obama and Trump? That's not an anomaly or people suddenly become racist as you said, in part perhaps that they were let down by the vision they felt with Obama. But also it tells you how complex people are.

John T.T. @johnofeunoia.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Sadly I think many have resigned into thinking it can't get better in their lifetime either. But what we're seeing can change, this reality is not our fate.
