While I have a large set of books relating to the Easter "Uprising", the following book demonstrates odd connections. Sholto Douglas selected Royal Flying Corps aerodrome sites in Ireland in 1917. Including the one now called Casement.

16 1918 pattern Austins served with 17th Bn on the Western Front, armed with Hotchkiss MGs. The other 24 1918 pattern Austins originally destined for the Russians were used by #DunsterForce in North Persia/Caucasus, armed with Vickers MGs.

In 1920 the Austin armoured cars of 17th Bn were proving difficult to maintain. Peerless armoured cars were introduced as a replacement. The same twin turret body as the Austin but with a longer chassis protruding at the rear. youtu.be/Nuc4XARvw-Y?...
