I went to war with the Yellowjackets so he could sit on the deck in quiet. He just wanted to watch the other critters in the yard and not have to do it in a yellowjacket yard. EVERYONE is welcome until you get agro.

Once upon a time, I built this for my wife. The coneflowers reverted back to their base colors though after a year or two of cross pollination - but it was fun while it lasted. #bloomscrolling

A riot of color as I planted a rainbow of flowers, particularly coneflowers around the outside edge of a deck, along with a buddleah, hibiscus and a few other flowers.

Trying a mini experiment hugelkultur method in a raised ceder box (basically I buried a rotting chunk of campwood and other detritis from the yard, topped with a mix of potting soil and compost). Planted Stroberies. Some of them have pink flowers. #bloomscrolling
