Thanks for that insight. My kid ran track and was good enough to medal at a District meet. I also enjoy watching PA high school State Championships on public TV, so I know there are lots of moving parts.

I think the general opinion is he was good at the start because he still knew the players, coaches and schemes. But as his time away grew longer he didn’t do the homework to keep up. That, however, does not preclude your theory.
