Ten years ago I repurposed an old android phone into a solar powered weather camera. Through automations, it would take a photo every ten minutes then update a web page, send out a tweet and image on a Facebook page. Worked for a few years!
A small solar panel and a black battery pack with connected wiring sitting on a black mesh outdoor chair on a lawn.A rooftop TV antenna with a white, capsule-shaped DIY enclosure mounted at the very top of the mast.A close-up of a white plastic weather-proof enclosure mounted on a green pole, featuring a small rectangular cutout for a camera. An open white plastic casing showing a Sony Ericsson smartphone nestled inside and connected to a white USB charging cable.

I thought I had lost my $30 ebay special camera (Now 21 years old!) Panasonic DMC-LZ2. There is something about the photos it takes I just like. Ends up it was just shoved in a cupboard during a clean up.

Poetry
"After school"
I want to go for a walk in the black forest
Maybe I'll find a pirate goodie
Possibly a monkey, pigsy or sandy
It would be just what the Doctor prescribed.
Visit that little person. The one that was full of life.
Little fear. A lot of wonderment.
He is still there, wondering what mum is cooking for dinner,
Waiting for the stars to come out.

Can keep reusing this meme forever. #Bluesky
The meme uses the "pigs in a slaughterhouse" analogy to suggest that while users of free social media platforms (Bluesky) might feel they are getting a "free" service, their data and attention are actually the commodities being traded by the company.

View from a dark room looking through a large three-paneled window into a sunlit, tropical garden. The outdoor space features a grey gravel yard, a wooden slat fence, and dense green foliage with tall ferns. A small wooden shed is visible in the background, creating a peaceful and lush atmosphere.

I have had a small aquarium on my desk for six months now. I have now realised that I am not keeping fish, but gardening. #Aquarium
A small, rectangular glass aquarium filled with water, featuring various live aquatic plants including tall green and reddish stems, a bushy Anacharis plant, and low-growing moss. Small fish, likely guppies, and tiny snails are visible swimming and crawling among the plants. The substrate is a mix of light-colored gravel with a few larger white stones and a textured white decorative rock in the center. A black internal filter is attached to the left side of the tank. To the right, on a white surface next to the aquarium, there is a yellow container of fish food and a cup of instant miso soup.

Loving copyparty! A web based file server that is a single python script. The clunky, old school look makes this old nerd happy. Plays media as well. Found an app on F-Droid called 'party up' that shares from phone direct to partyup server (not tested yet) github.com/9001/copyparty

The savings give by a small solar system on the roof of our office. 7kw system with 5kw inverter. Bill without panels would have been $350, actual bill $105 for a saving of 70%. Six split system air conditioners. Usually a staff of 12 in the office. #renewables #solar

Revisting Gerling's first album - "Children of Telepathic Experiences" Some very nice jangly guitar tracks, as well as some pretty weird musical experiments. "Enter, Space Capsule" is almost a skip in this album, but the "Radio Disko Remix" of this track is one of my favourites of all time.

Amazing economy here of 11.3 kwh / 100km in an EV. If you charged your vehicle in Queensland on tariff 31 ($0.18 per kwh) it would cost you $2 to go 100km.

The parts per million isn't slowing down. I am reading Carl Sagan's book "Billions and Billions" at the moment, and the Zig zag pattern is caused by the deciduous trees in the northern hemisphere not making leaves in the winter. (Not capturing carbon)
