I’ve noticed, in myself, a modern kind of sadness twinge when a friend goes Spotless Mind on their timeline. It might start by seeing someone new on their insta, then, wait what? A whole part of their social memory has been cleansed. Having far-flung friends means lots of important vignettes, lost.
