All good stuff, but Wagner and Klein (Nadalman's God!) are peak horror fiction.

That painting has got to be by Robert Maguire. Beautiful.

Yeah, it’s like really good vanilla ice cream. Ur-basic hero stuff when you want a story where the protagonist is the biggest, tallest, bravest, toughest, smartest guy around. And when he isn’t one of those things, it’s a Major Plot Element. ”That guy’s bigger than Reacher! Can he defeat him?”

Whoa, beware Bluto’s rice but that‘s the Sea Hag there on the left. You know she has bad intentions after receiving all those twisker punches from Popeye.

Features cinema‘s greatest gibbering, mind-blasted victim of the supernatural. “He went for a little walk!” “You should have seen his FACE!”

Yeah, arguably the finest single image of the Twain.

Easily makes the short list of the greatest Conan comics ever. Wonderful Howardian story from Zub and an amazingly sustained artistic tour de force from Horley.

Love Gil's stuff. Great throughout but his art's vivid sense-of-place makes the Hyborian Age come alive.

Dammit. Was this a surprise? I don't recall hearing he was unwell. So prolific and so knowledgeable. A one-man fount of pulp fiction and pulp history. Such a loss.

Shot off a motorcycle going top speed on a straightaway, my (armored) character slid an insane distance along the pavement and might actually have survived if he hadn't passed through A) a field of caltrops, then B) a mine field. It was so over-the-top it stopped the show.

Played it several times, once setting up a track that stretched across my old apartment. Good fun but primarily memorable for my character's absolutely spectacular death.

Hah-ha! Robert Leslie Bellem! While I doubt any roscoes go "Ka-chow!" in his story I still bet it's an entertaining read.

I don’t even recognize the publisher of this one. Can you tell me the year of release? Late sixties/early seventies maybe?

If you’re gonna go Koontz I don’t think you can do better than Phantoms. Absolutely magnificent monster and a candidate for the most compelling first chapter of all time.

Eegad. I still have dreams/nightmares about the job I had 20 years ago. If I’d been paid twice as much it wouldn’t cover that.

Both Ellis Bond tales are excellent. Re-readable too, with some sweet dialogue, especially between Bond and Moneypenny.

Yeah, it's "done" but the editors haven't really gone over the manuscript so there may be more work to be done on it. And yes, this is the book I started back in 1997.
