The wolf photographs chosen for my grey wolf stamp are from my 5-year solo project photographing and documenting the story of the Kootenay National Park wolf family, which became my coffee table book, The Kootenay Wolves: Five Years Following a Wild Wolf Pack (wildernessprints.com/collections/...).

Today is International Wolf Day and I'm thrilled to announce that several of my wild wolf images have been chosen for a Canada Post stamp as part of a 4-stamp package highlighting the ecological importance of wolves and the critical role they play as keystone predators in our country.

Another super quick letter you can send to oppose the ludicrous 10,000 visitor a day proposal for Fortress Mountain in Kananaskis that would include roller coasters, condos and retail stores in the alpine. action.cpaws.org/page/189331/...

Does a government that's willing to pull land out of a provincial park to give it to a private developer that's already rich so he can make a few more $$ on a gondola sound like a good idea to you? If not, visit www.nogondola.ca to take action (lots of easy things you can do there to help).

Does a gondola in Canmore with an additional 300,000 guests a year on it sound like a good idea for this town that is already busting at the seams with over-development? Visit www.nogondola.ca and take action (lots of easy things you can do there to educate yourself or just to send a quick letter).

A few bull moose shots from my Jasper wildlife photography workshops. Sometimes you get lucky and find a nice bull right by/on the road, and other times you track them through the bush and find them in a gorgeous spot like the final photo crossing the creek. #wildlifephotography #moosephotography

Before I got so concentrated on apex predators like bears and wolves and cougars, I photographed almost every mammal in Canada (I'm only missing belugas, walrus, fishers and bobcats, all of which I've seen, but never gotten shots of). Meet Zeus, another one of the Khutzeymateen's big boys. He's not quite as big or as mean-looking as Reacher, but Zeus put in a hard few weeks worth of work this spring courting three different females, including taking over with Big Mum after Reacher moved on.
