Lots of weird cases like that on the books. In 1908 in Little Rock Arkansas, by request of the jury, a judge in a murder case allowed a magic spell to be performed on a shotgun to see if the shotgun barrel would bleed and be presented as evidence in the murder. Strangely enough it did seem to bleed.
