New nあくた art dropped in their announcement 👀 x.com/ant0coffee/s...

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

Very happy that nあくた (@ant0coffee on twitter) finally got to do a full fledged servant. Was one of my candidates for Omiisan's artist... Sadly hasn't seemed to say anything in social media anywhere yet about it

If I did, hopefully it's mostly past tense. (Though I suppose it's still there in part when I don't take breaks in using free quartz). Luckily I spend only for GSSR now; Can't even recall instances I spent 10k yen since 2019 after my Dad died Anyway, this trial is over. Got the 5* before the 4*...😩

You'd think! But most of the time, so far, it's been rather fitting and not so distracting, given the Rule of Cool the direction follows ("that aura farming!") and the urban American setting. (Sawano even scored a trailer for a volume in 2020 so he's been considered for a long time I'm sure)

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

Giving me flashbacks to when you got NP3+ Summer BB (the first one) and I decided to "compete" by spending myself to one, ugh. (All my fault, not yours 🥲) Now I consider it much more morally hazardous to give more money to FGO in year 11, so it's been a real trial.

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

I guess I do, I just find much more enjoyment in the characters and reading the story more than I do playing the game. 😔 Doesn't help that all the surplus from 2025's quartz gifting just gave me ammo for a 2nd Olga and a pity NP2 Artoria Avalon.

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

Dang, presuming those were all free quartz, did you get a lot of bond quartz in the past two weeks? (As it looked like you had very few left by the end of the Logres banner.) Impressive luck.... At least I still have plenty of quartz quests left to do, but UGH. Just awful 10-rolls today.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

Just how many quartz did you have left before this... 210 free quartz spent so far and no SR in sight...

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 21/01/2026

It's really a stellar production all around too, though. Bangin' Sawano OST and directed by those guys who have done some of those really stellar well-animated FGO commercials. If not the writer, think you're rewarding all those other people (and returning seiyuu like Namikawa & Seki)

He won't know you're watching! You're on Bluesky!

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 15/12/2025

Hey Bluesky you might not have Twitter's own particular baggage now but I bet you still can't do THIS

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 23/10/2025

On a separate Nakano note, were you able to stop by Wonder Garage? Aside from Demon Slayer, it has some really nostalgic vibes now 👴 (ie TM stuff over five years old and early 00 animedia)

It seems the Queen Emeraldas mannequin made off somewhere since '23, though. It's still just a standee in her place, right?

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

I would've bought more from her, but her other KairiMo books (including what might've been the C106 debut?) seemed to be a part of a numbered series, and the first volume had already sold out. Maybe I was playing it too safely? 🤔(then again, I *did* spend over $300 altogether at C106, heheh)

110

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

That's awesome! (She's so nice!) Regardless of whether she knew you as "Koji" or not, she *did* seem to know who I was talking about when telling her I was buying for them; I was able to talk for at least 1-2 full minutes. (Would be surprised if she's met many Americans drawn to your husband haha)

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Gotcha! Seeing how there are some copies among the stickers, maybe you can stick them on things that you'll keep a long while. Now am I presuming right that you've met hisuiiro, maybe at Comiket? Couldn't help but "name-drop" you (Koji) when I communicated that a friend really likes Kairi haha

Had a lovely gift waiting in the mailbox from @johndcp.bsky.social once we got back from the Faire! These look absolutely darling, thanks so much!! 😊💕💕

Three very cute doujinshi. Two from Hirose (Case Files) with a free paper, and one from Hisui (Team Mordred) with a cute Team Mordred calendar!

Glad you got it! Have anywhere good to stick some stickers? (I'm always wary when it comes to fan goods that have a 'one-time' usage.)

Oops, just realized that I forgot to confirm which pay processor I use. I do use both of what you mentioned, but I do prefer Venmo. I can send you details via DM as well

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

Sent you a Bsky DM with the details. Doujin are headed your way!

I think the biggest difference between The Internet Then and The Internet Now is how Being Mad Online used to be the one thing you could never admit to, under pain of death, and now, Being Mad Online is a whole career path with a skill tree and an ever-expanding variety of debuffs.

Ok, so at least one more question... Might any doujin you have from *possibly around* Summer 2020 have two doujin in one book (w/ both covers advertising each story respectively)? 😬 I feel like every additional ounce might increase shipping, so I want to save you money if you don't want extra copies

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 30/09/2025

I want to keep things as much of a surprise as possible, but I do have to ask... Do you have any doujin dated around 8/22/20, 8/13/23, and 12/30/23? 😳 Turns out *none* of what I bought thinking of you were brand new to C106, save for a thin comiket-exclusive goodie.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 30/09/2025

Great. And is it closer to one week or two weeks until you leave, may I ask? Just to make sure I don't stress too much or too little about getting the three doujin to you as a surprise.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 30/09/2025

We'll see if I'll be able to ship the package as early as Tuesday afternoon... Is the address the same as what you DMed me on twitter two years ago? (I hope you still have access to your twitter account. )

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Alright then. They were all sfw doujin published within the last couple years I think, anyway. (Hope to see photos of them when you get them! Including a cute C106 exclusive) Now are you still okay with the payment arrangement you mentioned earlier? Shipping to OH should be cheaper than to AUS right

110

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Well hopefully I can get them sent out within days so it arrives before you leave. Though maybe I should clue you in on one or two of them anyway since some of what I bought thinking of you weren't new to C106.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

(sorry for not having sent any to you sooner, I only just got over the hump of selling other doujin to a Discord pal in Australia the other day)

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Been so out of touch with mutuals who actually care to talk with me here that it was only here that I found out you're going to Japan again lol (for how long?) So that you don't somehow buy the same doujin, I guess I may have to ruin my surprise C106 doujin for you after I return from work? 🫠

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Then again, it's my understanding that you're still very tired and sick, so please pardon any undue expectations; thank you for being willing to talk as much as you have. Praying for your better health in the hours and days ahead.

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Belated, but I want to say-- assuming we have the same idea of "empire of corpses" in mind-- I do not think this, that the existence of the totality of life's miseries and the bodies left in their wake simply equate the presence of good. That is calling that which is evil "good."

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

How is there no problem of evil if, as you say, humans are evil? I at least want to understand that formulation better before I get to sleep, since those two sound at odds with each other.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Never said he's the best I got-- certainly far from the only one I got, thanks to the inherited personal library of my late father, which I am woefully ill-read on- but I do mention him as one who has specifically explored 'the problem of evil', which is relevant to this chat.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

I imagine you at least have a general idea of who CS Lewis was sans-Narnia, as a hardened atheist before conversion & apologist after, correct? I need to read more works of his, but I'm sure "The Problem of Pain" gets at a lot of your sentiment. And surely other works of his and other apologists.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Thank you for telling me what you think, which includes a belief that many others share but may be more reluctant to admit. What you say about God saying "[he's] secretly good based on secret evidence you can't understand", though: I don't see any secrecy to it, so it's not even something I argue.--

200

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

"belief in him can also make people evil" is that a sincere perspective you have and one you'd want to exchange more thoughts on, or nah. I don't see a cause-and-effect relationship there, but I also understand that we might have worldviews that differ too much to be succinctly bridged in short form

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Rather than it "not working," I see it as other elements subsuming Christianity in their hearts so as to allow them, not Christ, to reign. The power of individual free will can't be discounted. Nor the individual's ability to interpret their faith and its value at their own discretion, really.

100

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Interestingly, I realized tonight that I had twitter-muted Charlie Kirk. Presumably over a string of rabid pro-Trump commentary I found obnoxious & yet found excessive presence in my feed. Might not really matter now. Learned a lot more about him & his other, better work since his death. Quite sad

000

Animerican John @johndcp.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Yet evangelicalism itself is laden with lessons on shame and self-abasement; the Trumpian American Evangelical wouldn't necessarily have to go further Eastward to try & absorb such lessons. Though I suppose if one did that, they'd lose the 'Trumpian' part of the identity they cultivated for themself

Unless you want to pay somewhere under $10 for a look at the web catalog, you don't have to. I probably wouldn't have too much trouble in identifying what you would like at this point anyway haha
