When I was a kid I loved building Lego. I was quite good at creating my own stuff too. But I'm crap at it now. There are just so many different pieces that do the one job they need to do. The creativity is all different. I liked having to be imaginative with the few bits I had.

Pretty pleased with how the Aragorn costume came together, but my hair was too long! Hand-made leather vambraces and pads, duster, fellowship cape, boot toppers and modified long leather jacket over burgundy collarless shirt. Now I just need an excuse to get dressed up. 🗡 For Frodo!

All done. Very pleased with how these LOTR vambraces came out. As maker projects go, this is one of my new favourites. Leather is tough to work with but very rewarding in feel, sound and smell. And now I've got some new skillz. 😀

I'm really enjoying working with leather. It's hard on the fingers, everything takes ages, and the carved veg tan was rather underwhelming, but once it was stained, waxed and sewn, the results are gorgeous.
