Outside of tech and energy, earnings estimates for companies in other sectors on average have not risen this year.

The most fundamental reason Harvard did not terminate Dershowitz's employment is that he retired in December 2013.

While communications btw Dershowitz's defense team & Acosta were legal, the U.S. Attorney’s Office did break federal law under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act (CVRA). That violation was committed by prosecutors for deliberately concealing the Non-Prosecution Agreement (NPA) from Epstein's victims.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
According to the public records and unsealed files, Dershowitz’s role with Epstein was that of an inner-circle associate and legal architect whose personal conduct became a central subject of victim allegations (which he has aggressively denied).

The Epstein files and flight logs placed Dershowitz in Epstein’s inner circle—flying on his private jets, visiting his homes, and interacting socially. Emails and documents also showed Epstein occasionally using his network to assist Dershowitz with external projects or political campaigns.

The inclusion of the blanket "co-conspirator immunity clause" in that agreement—at a time when flight logs, visitor records, and witness accounts tied various high-profile associates to Epstein—remains one of the most heavily criticized aspects of the entire Florida prosecution.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
As Epstein’s retained legal counsel, Dershowitz’s role was strictly to negotiate with then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta and state prosecutors to secure the best possible outcome for his client.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
How on earth did Alan Dershowitz get legal standing to negotiate the FLORIDA plea agreement for Epstein, when 1000s of pages of evidence, suggested he was a co-conspirator?

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Are Dershowitz and Starr and the others in the Epstein files? Yes, Alan Dershowitz, Kenneth Starr, and other defense team members appear repeatedly throughout the unsealed "Epstein files" Dershowitz is referenced in thousands of court pages, flight logs, phone logs, and deposition transcripts.

Dershowitz joined President Trump’s legal defense team for his 2020 Senate impeachment trial. Starr—famous for serving as Independent Counsel during the investigation into President Bill Clinton in the 1990s—was brought onto Trump’s 2020 Senate impeachment defense team alongside Dershowitz.

An ex parte communication occurs when one party involved in a legal case or proceeding communicates with a judge, decision-maker, or adjudicator without the other party (or parties) present or given notice. In Latin, ex parte translates to "from one side only."

Epstein's defense team? Prominent legal scholars & white-collar defense attorneys; Jay Lefkowitz, Alan Dershowitz, Roy Black, & former Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr. They applied pressure on the U.S. Attorney's Office, engaging in ex parte communications & aggressive negotiation strategies.

Federal prosecutors & FBI field offices routinely cited the 2008 NPA as a binding legal obstacle. It prevented reopening federal sex-trafficking investigation into Epstein and associates, locking the case in state and local domain until legal challenges unravelled the agreement years later.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
The FLORIDA agreement granted Epstein immunity from federal prosecution in Florida in exchange for a guilty plea to state charges of procuring a minor for prostitution. Crucially, the agreement attempted to shield named and unnamed co-conspirators from federal prosecution within that district.

The primary legal barrier during Comey's tenure stemmed from actions taken several years before he assumed FBI leadership. THE FLORIDA AGREEMENT In 2008, then-U.S. Attorney for S. District of Florida, Alexander Acosta, entered into a controversial Non-Prosecution Agreement (NPA) with Epstein.

Let’s face it. Netanyahu Through Mossad, is tied to Epstein. He is tied to false flagging the Oct 7 attacks to drive a Gaza genocide. Adelson funding and the Trump war in Iran is him. He and the Kushners are the same thing too.

Pair this obscenity with the bald facts: Most of these people plunder the tax system, and revel in paying no taxes. And feed on government contracts.

Jeff Bezos owns a $500M superyacht. It's so big it needs a second yacht just to carry its helicopter pad. Andrew Carnegie, with his Gilded Age fortune, built over 2,500 public libraries. Most are still open today ....free, for anyone, forever. One of these things outlives the man who paid for it.

Breaking these guys up is a global problem, one for all democracies to do. But USA first on that front. None will survive these radical tech bro regimes —that pay no taxes and acquire massive wealth, and feed on military/space contracts, and the like.

“Every time Musk pretends to be a self-made billionaire, remember. He‘d be worth $0 without $38 billion in corporate welfare. In 19 out of 20 years, Tesla paid $0 in federal income taxes by shifting $18 billion in profits offshore. Elon loves socialism for himself, not for you.”

Thoughts on the Next FOMC Interest Rate Moves
The FOMC can just wait to raise the Fed Funds policy rate again, after the U.S. midterm election in early December.

After the 'Musk' Bluesky blocking exercise, I experienced. Now we know. Paying for coordinated right-wing posting is one side of the strategy. The other side is to attack independent accounts like mine.

Interesting. When I posted this… My Bluesky access was blocked for the first time. I assume Musk digitally intervened somehow. Back now, after I sent an email to Bluesky support. Automatically.

What is wrong with holding Brin, Page, Musk, Thiel, Sacks, Karp. etc. accountable? They have acted and spoken, aggressively, over time. Breaking laws. Re-writing laws. Paying off lawmakers. Buying elections. Then, they say they hate Socialism. Take them down.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
I see NO ISSUE, as an economist, advising the next U.S. government (likely in 2028) that Brin, Page, Musk, and Thiel businesses get handed back to the U.S. taxpayers that funded much of their existence, at critical formative times. They publicly came out against socialism. They gamed the system.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Since Brin, Page, Musk, & Thiel all built major companies from U.S. subsidies, of one sort or another, and they profess a HATRED of SOCIALISM? Let's just claim these subsidized tech businesses for the U.S. taxpayer, and issue modest checks ($500K a year) for their efforts. What's wrong with that?

The number of California billionaires has increased from 245 to 261 in 2026 since the billionaire tax has been on the ballot. Those claiming billionaires are fleeing are gaslighting. —Ro Khanna

Sergey Brin and Larry Page's 'big idea'. Back the corrupt Trump family. Because the corrupt Romanov family? Oh sorry. Oh gee whiz. Back to the infinity pool for you guys.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Dear Sergey Brin and Larry Page-- The Romanov Dynasty ruled the Tsardom and Empire of Russia for 304 years (1613–1917). Communist rule over Russia and the Soviet Union lasted 74 years (1917–1991). One era lasted four times as long, and led to the other. Really.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
To Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Here is my big idea. You guys are in the USA. Really. Try looking around sometime.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
This is the relevant history Sergey and Larry. Not Russia. And if Russia, then focus on you guys vis-a-vis the insulated, out of touch Romanov family.

Comparing modern tech founders like Sergey Brin & Larry Page and Gilded Age "robber barons" (John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, & Cornelius Vanderbilt) is a widely discussed topic. Historians, economists, & tech commentators debate whether the current era represents a "Second Gilded Age".

Dear Sergey Brin and Larry Page-- Ro Khanna did briefly mention this... He did not dwell on this. He focused on American history. Try it sometime.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Ro Khanna's grandfather, Amarnath Vidyalankar, was a politician, social worker, & journalist. Born in Bhera, in the Shahpur District of British Punjab (later Punjab, Pakistan), he was part of the Indian independence movement & spent 2 years in jail in the pursuit of Dominion status for India.
000
John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
To Sergey Brin and Larry Page-- I saw Ro Khanna speak in Santa Barbara. Ro used a great deal of his talk, exploring what he had learned of American history, and where we are, in that timelime. Not Russian history. You came to a country that, as far as I can tell, you show little interest in.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Imagine being Russian immigrants to the USA. Getting into a Stanford graduate program, using three sources of U.S. federal government funding, to become insanely wealthy. And then... Take a major public stand -- defunding the American people, and game the system that helped you. Imagine.

Q: Would Putin fund a science project & make me a billionaire like Sergey Brin and Larry Page? A: While anything is technically possible, the probability of Putin funding a science project that turns you into a tech billionaire --on the scale of Sergey Brin & Larry Page-- is effectively zero.

Sergey Brin & Larry Page participated in the Stanford Integrated Digital Library Project—funded by the NSF (Cooperative Agreement IRI-9411306), DARPA, and NASA. This research enabled development of the PageRank algorithm & the early web-search prototype --that led to the founding of Google in 1998.

What we learn from CA Prop 41 and 42? John Doerr and Sergei Brin are a**holes. They want to signal to the Epstein Class. We are ‘in’.

John Blank @johnblank100.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
I will be a firm YES on Prop 40 and NO on Prop 41 and 42. The latter two Props speak directly and brazenly, to how billionaire wealth accrues: Game the system, in your favor. Never play fair. Not tech. Not product. Not productivity gains.

100% agree… “Oligarchs’ lavish spending against the tax measure is one of the best arguments in favor of it.” “Something is deeply sick in the society when billionaires have this much couch change just lying around while hundreds of thousands of people could get kicked off their medical care.”
