I've decided to get into Soulslikes
A pile of books- all three volumes of Marx's Das Kapital (the Penguin versions), David Harvey's Companion to Capital from Verso Press, and also the autobiography of Mother Jones because I couldn't be bothered to remove it from the pile and also there's probably a joke about theory vs praxis in there lol

Just picked up a couple SFF classics in Portuguese translation for a euro each:
Portuguese paperbacks of Ursula Le Guin's The Dispossessed (Os Despojados) and Alan Dean Foster's novelization of Krull.

This is a cat check point. relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone (This is a VERY friendly tortie I met in Iceland. She was too affectionate to get a good photo of. Her ancestors sailed with vikings.)

I don't think I have my original physical copy anymore, but reading Stephen King's Misery was the first time I saw the craft of being a novelist discussed in detailed terms- it was the first time that I realized that authors were just people, that I could be one too.

I released the first novel of my new socialist sword and sorcery trilogy, The City That Would Eat the World, this year! It's got a mimic-based ecosystem, carnivorous public transit, millions of gods, and a pseudomedieval megastructure arcology spreading uncontrollably across a continent.
The cover art to The City That Would Eat the World, book one of More Gods Than Stars. Two lady adventurers stand atop a colossal wall, with an entire city made of crisscrossing walls stretching behind them to the horizon. Mimics are hidden all throughout the image, disguised as benches, lampposts, and wall-stones, among other things.

Convincing you to read my novel by the first sentence. Share yours if you want. (Here's the opening of "The City That Would Eat the World", my socialist sword and sorcery novel featuring a pseudomedieval megastructure arcology, carnivorous public transit kaiju, and fingernail priests.)

I got my grubby hands on the pin and bookmark prototypes from the Mage Errant Deluxe Illustrated Omnibus Kickstarter, and they are absolutely gorgeous! Wraithmarked knocked it out of the park with these!

I need to come to this coffeeshop to work more often.
Same lake/city view as the last photo, but at night, and a bit foggy.

Decided to switch views for the evening.
A rooftop view of Hanoi's West Lake on a cloudy evening, with glowing skyscrapers on the other side reflected in the water.

My office view for the day! (Honestly, the other side of the coffeeshop roof offers an even better view of Hanoi and the big lake, but I was in the mood for this view instead. And that's not a field adjacent to the lake, it's a morning glory farm in the lake.)
A rooftop view of a small lake in the city, half of which is covered with a morning glory farm, with tall, thin Vietnamese apartment buildings with traditional terra cotta roofs behind it.

The cover of John Bierce's The City That Would Eat The World, Book One of More Gods Than Stars. Depicts two fantasy adventurers standing atop a giant magical city of interconnecting walls that stretches to the horizon, where a reddish gas giant looms over everything. There are mimics all over the cover, poking their eyes out from street benches, lamp-posts, and masonry blocks.

So my cat had to go to the vet today, he got a little kidney infection (he's gonna be fine, we caught it early. Just has to take some medicine for a couple weeks.) But, in good news, the vet agrees that he is a very good boy and extremely polite and well-behaved.

My stories feature science-inspired worldbuilding and magic, tons of queer characters, leftist politics, wholesome relationships, and more kaiju than you can (or should) shake a stick at.
