An old school friend Martin (Lar) Farrell died on
Tuesday.
Lar in a roundabout way had an influence on Lorraine and me 'getting together.
One evening In August 1980 a group of us were watching the famous Colepark Utd 5-a-side in St
John's College tarmac pitch.
Chatting away it transpired it was going to be Martin's 18th birthday the following day- Party Time
m
Aware that Stephen (Lorraine's brother) had a free gaff it was decided we'd have a party.
We pitched in a fiver-a-piece and I was nominated to buy the drink in Quinnsworth.
At the party I had eyes for Stephen's sister Lorraine, and she had eyes for me; the rest is history.

FAI BOARD ANNOUNCES JOHN DELANEY
RESIGNATION
The Board of the Football Association of Ireland announces the resignation with immediate effect of Executive Vice-President and former CEO John Delaney. This follows talks between the parties. The FAI will fulfil certain notice and pension obligations as agreed between the parties.
Mr. Delaney served as CEO of the FAI from 2005 to March of 2019 during which time the FAI became partners in the new Aviva Stadium. In 2017, he was elected to the UEFA Executive and in March of this year, he moved to a role of Executive Vice-President of the FAI.
Both parties have agreed to make no further comment

CLUB STATEMENT
St Patrick's Athletic FC notes the decision arising from the disciplinary proceedings concerning an isolated spectator incident during our recent fixture against Waterford FC.
The Club accepted regulatory liability from the outset and unequivocally condemned the conduct involved.
The incident involved the spontaneous action of one individual. A steward intervened immediately, the person responsible was identified and accepted full responsibility. The Club has commenced its own disciplinary process against the individual, who faces a severe and potentially indefinite ban.
The safety of players, officials and supporters is of paramount importance to St Patrick's Athletic. The Club does not tolerate violent, threatening or unacceptable conduct of any kind and will continue to take decisive action against any person responsible for such behaviour.
The Club is disappointed that the decision will now impact upon a large number of supporters, the overwhelming majority of whom have behaved impeccably.
