Exactly what I personally try to specifically say “LLM” instead, both to avoid the visceral reaction to prevent confusion.

I read that as Musk, and it worked on way too many levels for comfort.

Absolutely. But that “character” is what seems to be an inflection point for many creatives, hence my mention of it.

But his point remains eg your post. “AI” isn’t a singular technology. Aspects certainly do pose the risks you describe, but others have nothing to do with creative arts. But the immediate pushback is almost reflexive. Separating Tilly Norwood from a system that rapidly sorts email seems necessary.

I read the entire thing, and I'm just curious as to how anyone could read the entire thing and not come up with an image of a rambling dementia riddled fool.It certainly was stenography, but compared to the usual sanitized and normalized sound bites that make him seem coherent, it was not flattering

Aww man, I wanted to see what Jennifer, 50, thought!
This image is a screenshot of a text-based interactive feature (styled like a New York Times article), set against a plain light gray background. The content is arranged vertically as a moderator-led question followed by three participant responses, each paired with a simple black ink line-drawing portrait.

Top section: A small, light-gray label reads: "Moderator, Kristen Solitis Anderson." Below it, a large bold serif headline asks: "What's one word that comes to mind when you hear the name James Talarico?"

Three response blocks, each with a small sketched portrait on the left, a gray demographic line, and a bold answer:

Jeffrey — portrait of a man with dark hair and a beard. Gray text: "Jeffrey, 34, independent, Latino, school counselor." Bold answer: "Progressive."
Dennis — portrait of an older, balding man with short hair at the sides. Gray text: "Dennis, 62, Republican, white, retired." Bold answer: "Neutral."
Jennifer — portrait of a woman with dark hair pulled back. Gray text: "Jennifer, 50, Republican, white, stay-at-home parent." Bold answer: "Same-sex bathrooms in high schools and grade school." (notably a longer, phrase-length reply rather than a single word).

When you have Musk single-handedly pouring more than a quarter of a billion dollars into the election, perhaps Gov. Newsom is reading the room and realizing you can't get elected president under the current rules without a billionaire sugar daddy. This observation is in no way supportive of that.

He will only switch if the Dems gain 51 senate seats, including his. Otherwise, he'd just become another irrelevant cog in the right-wing hate machine, ignored in the media he craves.

Flock takes their privacy very seriously. But the ethical gray area in surveillance technology works both ways. Under no circumstances should elected officials or public servants enjoy an expectation of privacy when spending tax dollars to attend a surveillance lobbying event.
