Just discovered `bat`, as alternative to `cat`. A tool I know for to much years to count, pretty used to `cat`!. Either way, `bat` is pretty awesome, great tip to check it out! repo: github.com/sharkdp/bat

I accidentally upgraded my Nextcloud Hub to 26 Summer. Even though I agreed with mysefl that I should not do that.. every upgrade apps don't work for weeks and sometimes even months. I get it, it's community work. Upgrading, even though the process itself is smooth as butter, is a pain 😅

Draining nodes with longhorn on them can take a lot of time. Be prepared, have coffee ready :-p

Like a bad habit ingrained on your homescreen. I personally think Github has this "issue" as well.

I often get weird error like pages while browsing Codeberg. It seems a bit the rise in popularity doesnt help the sites stability. Trying to read the forgejo changelog. Guess I have to wait 😅.

Interesting.. The only Synology app that has "dark mode" is Synology Photo's (on the web). Synology Drive (including the office apps) don't. At least today not...

What app are you using when you want to remotely control a different mac? I use apple's Screen sharing. I don't like everything about it but it works pretty well.

on a different note, its ridiculous to have 30GB remaining on a 512GB drive... can't recommend 😅

I am noticing I don't like the fact that I have to keep using twitter for a bunch of tech "news" (or drama if you will). I like this app more...

if you are using DNS via virtualisation, for example Pihole via a VM on your NAS, its not the smartest move to setup the DNS of the host to the instance. Updates WILL break. Don't ask how I know 😅.

And perhaps secondly, does it even matter on which arch you build (given that buildx should be able to build for both ARM and x64)?
000
Jogchum Koerts @jogchum.dev · 31/07/2026
I have a @coolify.io question, perhaps someone knows: I have ARM and AMD/x64 servers. I also have one ARM server as build server and one x64 as build server. Would coolify be able to properly identify the best usable buildserver, matching the proper cpu architecture?

Reading and trying out docs.mistral.ai/getting-star... was a bad experience. Both the page and the AI created a Flask app that uses port 5000. That is a known port used by MacOS, the default port of Flask changed to 5001 in '22 or '23 maybe. Its i tiny detail with great impact for newcomers imo...

Trying out Euro-Office in Nextcloud 34 (via Nextcloud Office). Looks nice, actually like it 🙈. Can't figure out though on how to install custom fonts (when using Nextcloud AIO!)... anyone knows?

Sounds like something Solo could help with (soloterm.com). Let one model do the orchestration, but spawn subagents on a different (cheaper) model or even a different lab. Scratchpads + todos handle the memory, and the lead agent can sit idle without burning tokens.

I do find it cringe that new Nextcloud Hub releases are presented with much media attention and "update today" talk but apps are not compatible with the new release every-single-time. And yes, it involves a lot of community work for it to happen BUT, to me, it doesn't add up with the noise made...

If I’m correct though you can run a limited number of instances on the same key and, if needed, you can disconnect a license from an instance to clear up. It does make me wonder how that works for specially in a dev environment where I tend to destroy instances whenever I like 🙈🙈
000
Jogchum Koerts @jogchum.dev · 11/06/2026
Important to know though upfront, a license is needed per project. Not per person or per organization. I am not 100% sure how that works with multiple instances (like multiple dev instances, multiple environments), i hope that will all just work under the same key.

Yesterday @directus.io v12 was finally released. It has some real nice quality of life improvements, the overall look and feel of the studio is improved for the better imo. The release also marks the first release under the new MSCL (their license). Interesting to see how this will pan out!

More Basecamp v5 release spam 😅. I just find it awesome the way the team handled the release of the new version on the web and also, at the same time, the release and availability of the apps (both desktop and mobile. Perfectly timed!
Screenshot of the Basecamp macOS app showing an update prompt on a dark background. The Basecamp app icon — a green mountain landscape on a blue sky — sits at the top. Below it, bold white text reads: "Time to update. A new Basecamp is here." A subtitle reads: "This app needs to be updated to support the new features in Basecamp 5." A darker box below is labeled "UPDATE AUTOMATICALLY" and instructs: "Click Basecamp → Updates → Check Now… in the menu bar." At the bottom, two links offer manual downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel. The window is displayed against a purple background.

Next to having mirrors, it is also possible to configure push repositories. Neat feature!
000
Jogchum Koerts @jogchum.dev · 25/05/2026
Oh as to why you would want to migrate (perhaps you don't want to!), this is also relevant if you want to mirror a repository 😊.
000
Jogchum Koerts @jogchum.dev · 25/05/2026
So, good to know if you want to migrate repositories from Gitlab to Forgejo (probably codeberg.org as wel) you cannot use the "Fine-grained token". You'll have to use the "Legacy token". #tip #forgejo

The Fitbit app has finally transformed into the “Google health” app (sarcasm mode!). Not sure if it’s just getting used to it or not but I am not liking it so far. For instance i want to completely turn of coach and coach features like chat. I don’t want ai in this app. Seems impossible to do so..
