If I could tell you things aren't as bad as they seem, while remaining truthful I would. But let's face it, everyday there's some new world changing thing we have to worry about with our current administration. You can't "mental health" your way out of it..So give yourself grace ❤️ we're all here.

I'm not happy to do this. I had a GREAT time recording the audio portion of this project... but overtime, seeing AI take over the visuals, I lost the will to be apart. It would be hypocritical to be as against AI as I am, and continue to be a part of this project. I'll find other work though.

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 01/06/2025

I won't divulge the name of the project or the people involved, as this is their decision to make themselves- but I can't support the decision to make the visual component of the project entirely with A/I - when from my understanding it didn't start out that way.

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 01/06/2025

I recently stepped down from a role that I wish I didn't have to step down from 😔 It didn't start out this way, but A/I has crept it's way into the project and has completely taken over the entire visual aspect of it. But I can't support it, even if it means losing pay.

It's not bait, it's just fact. Video games are supposed to be fun for everyone. You aren't better for making your gaming experience harder for yourself. You just simply like a challenge. Some just wanna experience the story and environment.

So, I got the "creative bug" and gave my Captain America figures a nice repaint!

190

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 14/02/2025

The best depiction of Superman, is the one where he saves everyday people as WELL AS fighting the bad guys trying to hurt them. He's the guy who always finds another way, is IS hopeful, rather than just wearing a symbol of one. Not the one who kills because "its what's best." That's very nihilistic.

110

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 14/02/2025

It's okay if his films aren't perfect, they don't HAVE to be. I didn't even think they were "awful" but I didn't think they were "amazing" either. We've just moved on and want to embrace Corenswet's version without Snyder fans crapping on it at every turn- VERY OBVIOUSLY because it's not Cavill.

100

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 14/02/2025

You are *literally defending every single point of criticism I and many others have. You're trying to explain it away in ways that just don't apply. That's my problem with Snyder fans. They think everything he made is "gold" and has no flaws- When EVERY FILM has flaws to some subjective degree.

100

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 14/02/2025

Look, it's obvious you aren't willing to acknowledge any opposing viewpoints that aren't praising his work, and you aren't going to somehow convince me these are "works of art" all of a sudden, because all of what you said were just cop outs and mental gymnastics to justify otherwise dull writing.

100

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

I didn't WANT a "death of Superman" story compromised for the sake of "blending it with The Dark Knight Returns." Those two stories don't fit in my, and MANY others opinions. You think the "critics" are a monolith, and treat US like you say we treat you. We're not all calling you "Snyderbots."

000

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

Right. That message wasn't written well, and I'd call him more reckless than anything. He wasn't thinking about anyone on the outside. Killing Zod was what was easy, not what was right. What was right is way more difficult to do. The whole Doomsday plot was also very rushed and crammed in.

010

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

They're fairly judged. Sometimes harshly yes, but a lot of us including me have been pretty fair. You're just upset that the criticisms outweigh the praises, and there are things to praise. But as SOON as anyone has a negative criticism, you guys do these mental gymnastics that don't make any sense.

000

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

Corenswet ISN'T doing the exact same thing as Cavill. His depiction is already more in line with who the character is in the comics, unlike Cavills depiction. The nostalgia crew is EXACTLY the Snyder verse problem lmao

200

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

I agree, I wanted better for Cavill. I think he DID get cheated, because by all accounts I know he *can play a perfect Superman. I don't think Snyder was gonna be the one to give him "the perfect Superman." None of this falls of Cavill for me.

110

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 13/02/2025

It's just what I predominantly see online from a *lot of Snyder fans. Where was I? Watching the Snyder films, liking them but having a lot of problems with the writing and representation of the characters.

That's a great thing to have raised awareness about. They also just so happen to spread toxicity like a virus. Insulting anything DC that's not "Snyder." Downtalking Corenswet's performance before even seeing it, regarding to Gunn's work as "trash" with no basis for said opinon.

100

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 08/02/2025

These characters need to appeal to more than just one small group of people. Snyder's characters only catered to that small group of people. His fans are NOTHING to brag about 🤣

000

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 08/02/2025

The Snyder fans "loyalty" is just weird. It's cult-like and dumb. The things they say are not based in logic, and are biased as hell. Snyder himself is even looking forward to the new films. The Snyder formula, yeah- some people liked. But it wasn't the right formula for most.

200

Joey Sourlis | Voice Actor🪶 @joeysourlis.com · 08/02/2025

No, the Snyder fans are toxic. Dress it up however you want but amongst general audiences, most people didn't think it worked. If you're referring to how Gunn is doing it, he actually understands the characters and doesn't feel like he needs to change them to fulfill an edge lords fantasy.
