Catching up on this news that Europol has taken down ransomware group KillSec with a 16-yr-old arrested for allegedly leading the group. The child is Romanian and living in Spain. Another person who just turned 18 is accused of being the malware developer. Teenage cyber crime is sadly thriving.

Bizarre update/ twist in the FBI hack case. The hackers - Shiny Hunters - are now saying that they won't publish the stolen data on their darknet site and actually 'never intended to'. They sent me and other reporters this ridiculous statement saying the media 'took the story out of context'.

This is arresting from the latest Anthropic release which - like the OpenAI one - gives us chain of thought records. Mythos 'thinks'/ 'processes'/ 'reasons' (?) in an eerie humanlike way similar to OpenAI's models. Two different models trained by two different firms 'thinking' in very similar ways.
