Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

Fun fact. I have literally started this game and played it for five minutes, get hyped about its intro, and then abruptly stop and forget about it for years and have done so multiple times since the early 2000s. I should really, really, really play Policenauts all the way through sometime.

Okay. I get it now. Yeah. Its zero risk, marginal effort game design on top of an existing idea. And I get why Nintendo would do that because its literally printing money for them just by releasing it. Starfox remake, felt that, too, but I also enjoyed it FWIW. I enjoy 64 with some QoL improvements.

Unwarranted counterpoint from someone who, yes, never played or got into the original Ocarina of Time. It looks alright to me? Probably not the game of the century everyone says OoT is, but, its made me actually wanna give it a shot this time. And I havent liked a Zelda since Link to the Past.

I just read his followup to this on substack, and to be honest. Its not much better. ELLISON SPOKE HIS LAST WORDS ON EARTH TO THIS MAN AND THANKED HIM FOR HIS FRIENDSHIP. And Ellison was notorious for his hotheadness and opinions about being properly compensated and the like. This is a dick move.

I missed the who this was about and later somehow discovered that it was JMS. Which is very, very, verily incredibly disappointing for a lot of reasons, especially with his close work together with Ellison on making Babylon 5. Im kind of devastated about how flippant and shitty this is.
