Since I was elected, I've been calling for a national register so we can properly monitor and regulate short-term lets. I raised this again in Parliament and I'm delighted that Lisa Nandy confirmed it will be fully in place by March - giving local councils a crucial tool they need to take action.

Over the summer we've continued to see the challenges of short-term lets in our communities. My constituents in Kensington & Bayswater are fed up of being regularly subjected to antisocial behaviour, illegal subletting, and criminal activity including brothels.

New nursery now open! I'm delighted Bevington Primary now has a school-based nursery, thanks to new funding from this Government. This means children can be part of the Bevington community from just six months old until they leave for secondary education at age 11.

Cost of living help is coming to residents across Kensington & Bayswater through the abolition of VAT on household electricity. This will mean lower than forecast energy bills for everyone. It is a practical step that will make a life a little bit more affordable.

New powers in the Crime and Policing Act passed earlier this year have made impounding the cars easier. Changes I voted for in Parliament are making a difference. On my ride along, the police arrested someone with large quantities of drugs and cash in an uninsured car.

Thank you to the Met Police team for organising and inviting me to join their special Supercar operation at Hyde Park Corner on Saturday night. Excessive noise, speeding and other traffic offences affect many of my constituents, so I'm glad that the police seized over 80 vehicles.

The next step is a strategy for the whole government: stopping unwanted businesses from opening, tackling the criminality hiding in plain sight, and supporting new local businesses to flourish.
