I applaud anyone who takes the time to learn what their car or truck can do (yes, we get trucks there too!) and I wish it were mandatory tbh. It's a huge benefit to road safety. As we transition to a world where new drivers are hopping into 400+hp EVs, the need is more acute than ever.

It builds confidence to get that feedback, and it builds skills. The cars that spun yesterday were all late models, lots of HP and driving aids that perhaps had never been off before. Their drivers weren't familiar with what is actually going on under the covers, & were surprised.(everyone's fine)

electronic aids we're putting in cars are inhibiting developing skills. I've heard instructors talk about how hard it is to instruct in some of these newer cars too bc they are hiding so much. To that end I ran down a '24 911 GT3 yesterday. He started with a 25+sec headstart and I caught him 🧵

part of my volunteer work involves securing our local wastewater treatment plant. It is eye opening (and watering 😭) to deal with it all up close, including civic planning. People dump all kinds of stuff of course... now I know what VFDs and GBTs are :)

Our youngest worked at a chik-fil-a in Nashville when she was in school and she got approached about modelling for their ads. The contract gave them rights over her likeness etc in perpetuity. So I had to explain what a sh*t contract that was. Feels like AI makes that 100X worse.
