I know it's not the main point in this story about paedophile Nazis being protected by the right wing establishment, but: "CUM LUMBERJACKS"

Here's an interesting assignment for an enterprising and brave journo. The ludicrous Operation Raise The Colours founder Ryan Bridge's football hooligan past is well known. What I hadn't realised was that he was a Birmingham City Zulu Warrior: part of a firm that was BUILT on being multicultural.

Yep, the connection is Verdurin "bookshop and events space" in Hoxton (of fucking course) run by a guy who looks like this (of fucking course) where Power is "core contributor and instructor" and Gove's GF Lola Salem is "development partner".

So Michael Gove's girlfriend had CSA material, supported French Fascist org and worked wtih ppl who posted shit like this? I'm sure he'll be be absolutely monstered by the entire press and absolutely won't have untold excuses made for him by people who think he's tremendously good value at parties.

Without wanting to do the "ooh big projects I can't talk about" rigmarole, for all that I look like I'm spunking away my days on here, it looks terrifyingly like I am could have four books and two compilation albums all coming out within the space of about a year. Just have to finish them now.

What's the one type of person on the internet - excluding obvious categories of bigots and creeps - who really gives you the creeping horrors? Me: people who make being an expert on "narcissists" their whole thing.

(ARGH since getting on the ADHD meds my decades ago undergrad studies keep leaping to mind unbidden.... literally driving home from the school run the other week my brain went "OK CAN DERRIDA BE WRITTEN IN PLAIN ENGLISH" and did this)
There’s no such thing as final meaning: nothing “means” just one thing.

The idea of a final, definitive meaning is a tool of authority: it represents reality being dictated and constrained by a single god, king and/or hierarchy.

Authority needs the illusion of single, set, unchanging meanings, because admitting the inevitablity of change and uncertainty – and the fact that doubt, questioning, multiple valid perspectives are part of society – are destabilising and delegitimising to it.

No one piece of communication exists alone. Every part of it has connections to the conditions it was created in, to things that talk about the same things, to the whole history of its language and its format etc etc.

Because of that, all language and culture contains the ghosts or echoes of what has come before. Words, refrains, type of sentence structure etc each have their own history of how they evolved and of the endless things that they have referred to.

That doesn’t mean that there’s no meaning or truth, or that all meaning is interchangeable – but these things are fluid and depend on context and relationships. Meaning emerges FROM these things.

If, in the light of this understanding, you’re tracing meaning, you need to acknowledge that the context you’re interpreting things in itself has context, and so on without end.

That in turn doesn’t mean you need to get stuck in endless chasing of threads of connection, though – it’s just the acknowledgement that interpretation can never be complete. There’s always more.

Nor is tracing meaning an arbitrary process. All those contexts and relationships – the passageways through which the ghosts of the past move – have been shaped and directed by material and social realities all the way.

The more things insist they ARE complete in their meaning, the more they are suspect, and the more we should examine what they’re hiding.

A key way authority insists on these complete meanings is through forcing things into binary opposi…

I had to delete the original post as way too many people were taking it as real. I didn't fact check because I wanted to make a stupid rave joke. It IS not as daft as other things Liz Truss has said. But it isn't real. Sorry.

I saw Underground Transgender Mafia absolutely smash it with hours of relentless gabber at a four day Teknival in Czechia back in 98. 1/2
Liz Truss claims "Underground transgender mafia" were plotting against her and brought her leadership to an end.
"They're the ones really running this country."

The face your big toe makes at you when you stub it.
A picture of a cliched English ageing right wing thug, he looks like an angry toe.

It's followed by his Facebook post:

Andrew Richard Harris
Well too the lefties who are untelligent arseholes. Hell fire is coming from the British patriots. FLA. Veterans. The real far right organization's too. Even very powerful people who are behind the British patriots who have more money than the government. The left wing arseholes are coming too the end. Already there has been a meeting with the British patriots, Scottish patriots, ireish patriots Welsh patriots. Even the FLA who has over 1.5 million members.

I have spent so much effort training my kids to nod sagely and say “ah, breakfast of champions” when they see someone with incongruous items in their shopping basket - but who is there to do it for me? No sense of public duty left in this godforsaken country.

Found a shock solution to the perpetual middle class problem of accumulating tote bags that just fester inside other tote bags on a coat hook and you never remember to take out shopping and feel guilty about. Get tote bags you actually love 🙃

One of the most reliably funny things in politics, like decade-in, decade-out, is reactionaries discovering French people's penchant for setting stuff on fire for the first time and thinking they've found the ultimate key to their apocalyptic wank fantasies.

It's etched into my brain because - no joke of a lie - this is the first LP I ever bought. As well as it providing that Orbspiration, I once saw Jerry Dammers DJ, just playing from a pile of reggae sevens on one deck, and a copy of this on the other to use Hitchhikers Guide lasers as a dub siren.
