This slide was shared by @felixarntz.bsky.social in the WordPress Performance Team end of year hallway hangout today. Really impressive to see how big of an impact auto-sizes is already having on sites that upgraded to WP 6.7.

WordPress 6.7: image sizes=auto impact

The introduction of sizes=auto on images has led to a reduction of 32.50% for wasted loaded image bytes on desktop for websites that updated to WordPress 6.7, signifying a higher accuracy in selecting the most suitably sized image.
