@adarowski.bsky.social This was fun. I left yesterday's @immaculategrid.com open in a tab, started playing it this morning, and then refreshed the window. Who knew Mario Soto was such a great hitter?

The short answer is yes. Extremely toxin-resistant snakes have sodium channels with hydrophobic substitutions in the pore. Some of the analogs have hydrophobic functional groups which allow them to bind into and block these resistant channels better than regular TTX does.

Selected poses (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9) of the highest scoring analog, 11-deoxy-4-epi-TTX (cyan, ball and stick) in NaV1.4LVNV. N1568 and V1569 in Domain IV are shown as sticks with TTX-N1568 interactions shown as yellow dashes. V1569 and the C11-methyl of 11-deoxy-4-epi-TTX are shown as surface to showcase hydrophobic interactions.

Kelly Robinson showed that there is lots of variation within and among newt species in what TTX analogs they have on their skin. We wondered if some of these might be more effective defenses against their garter snake predators than regular TTX, so Kait used docking models to test this idea.

#1: The Fourth of July is a holiday about opposition to monarchy, and as a nation, we should probably get back to that

Same. I did mine 1-9 based on defensive position. My score was a lot higher at 6:10 this morning but has worked its way down to 0.

You can glean a lot of information about a person from their @immaculategrid.com stats. 1. I am a Reds fan 2. I grew up in the 1980s and 90s (watching baseball on TBS, WGN, and WOR) 3. I had a lot of Rickey Henderson baseball cards 4. I am a Zack Greinke admirer 5. I am obsessive compulsive

My congressman is a degenerate goon who sends form letters like this one to people who call his office. I'm considering calling just to taunt him instead of to express concerns in a civil manner.

Thank you for contacting me regarding President Trump and his Administration. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
I understand there have been various concerns expressed about President Trump and his Administration. However, it is essential to remember that under the Constitution our federal government is comprised of a three-branch system with significant checks and balances. If actions by the Executive branch are unlawful or an overreach of power, the Legislative and Judicial branches have not only the right, but the responsibility, to counter these actions and provide the appropriate checks on the Executive branch. This should hold true regardless of which party controls the Administration or Congress.
Thus far, I have not seen anything establishing that the Trump Administration has violated constitutional authority, or authority given to the Executive branch by Congress. I have long believed that for decades Congress has given too much authority to the Executive branch. Under Democratic administrations, these granted authorities have been exercised to the fullest extent to advance the agendas of the president.
So, while I would prefer to clip the wings of all Executive branch decisions, I cannot fault President Trump for using the same authorities as his predecessors.
Please know that I will continue to closely monitor actions taken by President Trump and his Administration in order to preserve the balance between the Executive and Legislative branches of our government.
For more information on what is happening in Congress, please visit my website at www.morgangriffith.house.gov. If I may be of further assistance to you on this, or any other issue, please feel free to contact me in my Washington, DC office at (202) 225-3861. I remain
Sincerely yours,

Maybe the most underappreciated electric blues guitarist is Luther Allison. His two Motown albums from the 70's are classics. I'm listening to this live album from the 90's now and it's 🔥🔥

Finally listening to @darcyjamesargue.bsky.social's Dynamic Maximum Tension. It's a treat! As a guitarist and biologist, I especially liked Single-Cell Jitterbug.

This is so tasty. A cameo from Emily Remler plus two soulful, slow versions of tunes normally played up - Take the "A" Train and Sweet Georgia Brown - played by pianist Gene Harris. Ray Brown rock-solid as always.

Listening to Wallace Roney's 1996 album Village. So many recently departed players on here: Roney, Chick Corea, Geri Allen, Pharoah Sanders, Michael Brecker.

Now listening - East Coast Blow Out by Jim McNeely. I bought this on lark because it had John Scofield on it. The guy who sold it to me directed me to this commentary by @darcyjamesargue.bsky.social and @ethaniversonpiano.bsky.social, which I hadn't seen. (ethaniverson.com/interviews/i...)
