Systemic trans misogyny frequently leaves trans women vulnerable to physical violence and denial of legal protections, with particularly severe impacts on racialized and sex-working populations.

Did you know? Institutional biases toward trans women in Canada's justice system manifest as disproportionate criminalization, misgendering during legal proceedings, and discriminatory prison placement policies. #institutionalbias #transrights #transwomenarewomen #theprofilersshadow

I do understand, before coming to writing, I had a multi-decade-long career as a painter. Visuals hit hard. It's not impossible that an image of Mary will eventually appear, but not for now. I'm on Discord, Instagram, Facebook, and others. :)

110

Joelle Circé @joellecirce.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

I get it, and I did have the cover art represent a female face, though I wouldn't go as far as to say it represented Mary to a tee. Hah, now you have me wishing I had. :)

110

Joelle Circé @joellecirce.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

I know such illustrated novels exist, but no, that's not something I've thought of or desire for my psychological thriller.

110

Joelle Circé @joellecirce.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

What do you mean by visuals? If it's describing the physical appearance of a character, then yes. If you are referring to actual images, then no.

110

Joelle Circé @joellecirce.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

No, it's a novel. There is a description of her appearance, as one might expect, but no visuals.

110

Joelle Circé @joellecirce.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

You will have to wait until November, when the book comes out. :)
