Getting closer to looking like a cereal crop field? Still orange kinda, but I don’t think I hate it? My first rookie mistake was choosing such a large canvas. I think after this one I’m going to be buying small practice canvases, softer brushes, and some acrylic medium. #art #painting
Updated painting from quoted post. Bottom third has been painted in two hues that are somewhat closer to a cereal grain yellow colour?

I’m aiming for a blue sky meeting a wheat field but I may have painted ocean meeting sand. Also, acrylic needs to calm down and let me blend. Might need a medium? #painting #art
An iteration of the painting in the quoted post. A blue sky going from a dark to white gradient meeting a flat orange bottom third

I am now almost certain I will finish this sometime this year. If anyone out there can see anything obviously wrong I am open to suggestions but also tired and getting sloppy.
A small unfinished deck serving as a landing to the entrance of a house, the beams and joists are all visible. Landscaping fabric can be seen underneath. The yard is a mess of rubble piles, tools and hoses. The remains of the previous stairs are seen just out of frame on the left

I think this is what we call “scope creep”. Started out making an AR messaging app. Accidentally built most of a @rpg.actor client cause the sprites seemed fun. Filing all of this under “experimental” and it may never see the light of day. But it’s cool.

I have once again underestimated the complexity of a task. This is usually a coding problem, but every once in a while it’s a concrete and iron problem.
A partially deconstructed step. It was built out of angle iron and concrete. The steps and landing are gone and there is a pile of rubble in the center

How insane would it be if there was an app out there that let you draw @rpg.actor items and assets? And then you could mint them and have them distributed to people? If there are good reasons not to do this someone should stop me because the editor is shaping up nicely…

Ever wonder what an "HD" Super Mario World would look like? Well it might look a little something like this* 😎 👇 *Early build, not representative of final product

I feel like the individual wrappers would hinder the speed at which I can consume them. Maybe it’s a health thing, like those “slow eating” dog food bowls.

The new Canadian Tire store is pretty cool, it has space in the center of the building that I can only assume is a combat arena.

My receiver died in spectacular fashion at 5AM. A capacitor blew (I think) and caused the speakers to blast out crackling static and other awful noises at full volume. Needless to say the dog was not impressed and we were all confused and scared until we knew wtf was going on 🤣

A friend is moving and getting rid of stuff, they asked if we wanted some books. Of course I said “yes!” Friends, they dropped off what is close to every @stephenking.bsky.social book? There’s also some from Richard Bachman for some reason? Weird.

Back on my bullshit. This is not my work btw, just what I found after opening up a broken switch I bought for cheap due to a broken charge port. If I can get this working again I’ll feel like a god, haha.

Where are the #turntable nerds at? This a “Hitachi P/E 3044” I found at an online auction and I can’t find much about it. I found a forum post saying it’s “essentially” a Dual 1225? It looks like a solid Frankenstein record player sold in Canadian markets?

I picked this up today at a used book store on a whim because Le Guin rarely misses. 30 pages in and I’m really liking it! I’ve only read a few Sci-fi books from her, the fantasy setting is refreshing! Yay, I hope this pulls me out of my yearly reading slump 🙂

“The addition of 7-Up gives milk a favor appeal that especially pleases children”
An ad old ad for 7-UP and Milk. It reads:

For children who won't drink milk...
for adults who want the nourishment of milk with a decidedly different appeal...
Mix chilled 7-Up and cold milk in equal parts, by pouring the 7-Up gently into the milk.
Do not stir. The 7-Up adds a light and delicate favor making a delicious blended food drink.
Mothers know that this is a wholesome combination. The addition of 7-Up gives milk a favor appeal that especially pleases children

Back to making silly mistakes with electronics. Got this for cheap on eBay, wouldn’t power on. After looking inside it clearly had water damage. I don’t know what to do about that, but it MIGHT be something I can fix. Well will see! #ConsoleRepair
