Another portrait for the Three Kingdoms game, Zhang Rhang, the scheming court attendant to the emperor himself. Very fun portrait to paint, in particular the facial expression and the hat. More portraits to come!

Cheers! I think 95% is the flat dry brush. Enough for everything with the exception of main focal areas where you would like the round brush

Illustration I made for an upcoming board game set in the Three Kingdoms era of ancient China. I learned a lot about those historical events and they are very interesting! Looking forward to share some of the leaders and generals in the future, those were in particular interesting to research.

It’s been especially rewarding to see the reactions from Star Trek fans to the card and its depiction of Dr. McCoy’s iconic one liner. Getting to bring such a recognizable moment into Magic was a lot of fun! Thanks to Mike Thomas for the Assignment and art direction

“I’m a doctor, not a…” One of the very first Star Trek cards I had the chance to illustrate for Magic: The Gathering! This was also one of the earliest pieces where I started pushing the storytelling elements in my card art, and I learned a lot throughout the process. -
