I probably should know why changing the minimum of my random number to bellow 0.5 causes this. But I don't

Shows a random number range of 0.5 to 1, and a range of 0.4 to 1
Under the first setting my characters eyes look like a light grey tv static. Under the second setting they have high contrast black and white static with a strong ominous white glow around them.

Really amused by a transition I encounter in Death Howl the other day. Its the same basic Perlin noise slightly edited I use on the shark enemy's shader Would not be surprised it there's more instances of it out there, its such a simple but really good effect
