If I’m reading this right, a newly qualified social worker (NQSW) starting 1 Feb ’27 would complete a year-long ASYE, while someone starting just a month later, on 1 March, would take 2.5 years to complete its replacement (ECDP)? That seems… pretty unfair. www.communitycare.co.uk/content/news...

Helpful diagram from Social Work England's recent external review shows the confusing maze of social work standards and frameworks. A principal social worker even said they felt 'embarrassed' introducing it to students/NQSWs. For years the answer has always just been to add more.

I understand why they did the poll this way, but after over a decade of bursary freeze for social workers, this is all just rearranging deck chairs. If the real solution (more financial support across the board) was on offer (here or in the consultation) there would be no 'divided' about it.
