And we're back. #PimaSupes It's unclear whether the issue is with Supervisor Heinz - who is attending virtually - or something with the equipment here.

Due to some minor audio issues, we are taking a quick break.

We are at #PauseForPaws today. Meet Randall, one of 400 dogs at the Pima Animal Care Center.

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

I really think Green Valley has some of the fiercest sign game in all of #AZ06.

141

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Here they go. Sorry for the wide shot, I am in the cheap seats.

130

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

I am told the town hall will start soon, although Mayes is already knee deep in the crowd talking to voters.

130

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

What’s the energy like on Friday night in one of #AZ06 suburbs? This car said a lot.

110

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Why? Because my colleagues at the @arizonaagenda.bsky.social wrote this headline last year.

130

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Obviously, we will be asking Mayes about this campaign sign.

130

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 Another dispatch from the campaign trail tonight, this time attending a rally in #AZ06 featuring @joannamendoza.com and @krismayes.bsky.social.

183

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

I’ll have to admit this did catch my eye.

121

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Anonymous source posted this video of grandmother cottonwood being dragged away.

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Happening now: Protest in front of the federal building in downtown Tucson after contractors for Border Patrol cut down the last remaining “grandmother” cottonwood near Lochiel and raiding a camp of peaceful protesters.

Here is the “b” side of the trailer I drove be recently.

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

In two weeks, #Tucson (and the rest of the country) will see thousands of people mobilize again for the #NoKings rallies. I strongly suspect there will be voter registration tables at some of the events.

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

“Nature abhors a vacuum.” This is the case during the political season as well, as no good “spot” can be left on busy Tucson street corners. It looks like the Ciscomani sign has been moved, taken down and leaving behind a lone Juan + Donald sign. (The anti-Prop 425 is new.)

231

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Here is the line-up for today’s Democratic rally tonight featuring Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and #AZ06 candidate @joannamendoza.com.

121

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

And a bill board truck for TUSD candidate Val Romero.

020

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

After railing against attack ads, Mendoza warms up the crowd here in #AZ06.

140

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

So about the Mendoza event - a new, second #Tucson office - is packed with campaign volunteers, union workers wearing worker power shirts and some of her major contributors. It is standing room only.

120

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

On my way to cover a @joannamendoza.com event this morning, I drove by the weekly Saturday morning protest - led by LD18 Democrats - outside of Ciscomani’s office.

2214

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I teased earlier in the week that there would be a rolling billboard truck driving around #Tucson, criticizing two term Congressman Juan Ciscomani. I never caught up with the the truck, but someone from Unseat Ciscomani shared a few pictures. It is going to be an intense six week. #AZ06

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

But switching back to tonight's meeting, I did write a little bit about proclamations in yesterday's "What We Are Laughing At" section of the @tucsonagenda.bsky.social.

210

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 Good evening, #Tucson. I'll be doing my best to give you the play by play from the #PimaSupes meeting.

193

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

The rally right now is a small crowd but the real push will be roughly 90 minutes from now, during Call to the Public during the #TucsonCouncil meeting. They have been doing a social media push to “pack” tonight’s meeting.

110

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I am going to #PimaSupes tonight, but I stopped by a small protest in front of #Tucson City Hall. The (Tucson chapter) of the Democratic Socialists of America is protesting #TEP’s #Proposition421, a 25 year franchise agreement with the City of Tucson.

141

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

(Sorry about the fuzzy video. Was unprepared to see a man in a chicken suit. Technically, there were two but on different corners of Broadway.)

131

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Two billboards have been put up by the @pimadems.bsky.social recently, both commenting on the changes in society under the Trump Administration. This one is a block away from Ciscomani’s office.

153

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

They are marching to Ciscomani’s office now, although the gurney will stay on the ground as they knock on the second floor doors of his office.

100

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

I would guess there is about a dozen people here for the rally (so far) but there are a few journalists attending as well.

130

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

With signs that read “Families deserve affordable healthcare” organizers have brought banners, baby strollers and a hospital gurney.

100

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 I am back in front of Congressman Juan Ciscomani’s office in midtown #Tucson as activists set up out front (on the sidewalk) to discuss the cuts to healthcare due to the signing of the “Big, Beautiful Bill” - also known as HR1 - last year.

151

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

It worked, people jump out of their chairs as Mendoza takes the stage. #AZ06

170

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Quick crowd shot from the Mendoza rally in #Tucson, featuring Pete Buttigieg.

2194

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Crowd is pretty upbeat, despite the heat. I caught a few people dancing to the music before the event starts. (I caught them as they were winding down.)

190

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

A few observations before they start. Capacity is 2,500 and it looks like they will reach it here at the venue just outside of the #Tucson city limits.

191

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 I am at the @joannamendoza.com rally with @petebuttigieg.bsky.social tonight. Reception isn’t great - but I’ll add to the thread as I can.

2216

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

There are many iterations…. Saw this in Green Valley a few months ago.

020

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Ciscomani has put out new signs - trying to put a dent in Mendoza’s appeal to veterans - but take a look at the “No War in Iran” sign next to it. The fight over #CD6 is on every street corner.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 I'm back here at #PimaSupes, where I'll be covering their regular/night meeting — which starts at 5 p.m. In the meanwhile, send me your questions in the thread and I'll do my best to answer them.

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

My view as I listen to the speakers tonight.

063

Joe Ferguson @joeferguson.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

There are several residents opposed to the action in the audience tonight.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 Hi, I’m back at the #TucsonCouncil and attending their night meeting. No #Spoilers, but tonight should be interesting.

Here is one rendering of the Tucson Inn will look like, apparently at night.
